Sr. Product Manager

The product manager will partner with business teams, engineers, technologists, data scientists, and other cross-functional teams to deliver software solutions for Nielsen's television system. In addition to the software product requirements management, this individual will be responsible for the user story backlog and will be accountable for requirements decomposition and authoring of acceptance criteria for software.

Responsibilities:

• Design and oversee data pipelines for a specific application area.
• Build and maintain roadmaps with clear milestones for your application area.
• Analyse data outputs from specific applications and implement quality controls for accuracy.
• Monitor and track the performance of your applications.
• Investigate with Engineering to identify root causes for data quality escapes.
• Author user stories, acceptance criteria, and software requirements documentation.
• Maintain a prioritised backlog that aligns with available engineering capacity and maps to an overall solution roadmap.
• Identify and mitigate blockers, risks, issues, and dependencies that may impact project delivery and escalate to the appropriate stakeholders.
• Manage scope and drive trade-off decisions.
• Coordinate the creation of release management documentation, follow change management procedures, and review post-deployment KPIs.
• Serve as a high-availability resource for answering questions posed by engineers, data scientists, and key stakeholders.
• Lead the planning and execution of projects from initiation to closure, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of Nielsen's television products and their short- and long-term product strategy.
• Set and track ROI goals for each product, ensuring they deliver value and align with broader business objectives.

Requirements:

• A bachelor's or master's degree in business administration, computer science, data science, or a related field is often preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in product management or a similar discipline.
• Exposure to Data pipelines and DE tools.
• Extensive experience practising, applying, and coaching others on Agile development principles.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical teams.
• Demonstrated experience in managing the full product lifecycle from discovery through delivery and iteration.
• Experience with managing the product life cycle of data-intensive products, with an understanding of technical and data flow/delivery processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to present effectively to upper management.
• Communicate product status, risks, and tradeoffs to leadership and stakeholders.
• Experience with Atlassian Jira and Confluence tools.
• Experience with backend processing systems.
• Experience in serving multiple products with a single system and Scrum team.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• Additional certifications in product management, Agile methodologies, or related areas can be advantageous.
• Prior experience in audience measurement / the media industry is a plus.
• Strong time management skills.
• Familiarity with big data, cloud product architecture, and general software engineering practices is preferred.
• Familiarity with statistical modelling/machine learning techniques preferred.
