Nursing Coordinator - Endoscopy

Direct supervision and coordination of activities in the assigned department.

3.4 Directs, supervises and coordinates all administrative activities of the nursing department

3.5 Deals with other departments to solve inter-unit or inter-departmental problems.

3.6 Provides appropriate nursing staffing coverage for unscheduled absenteeism/sick leave or change in number of patients or status ensuring patient safety.

3.7 Responsible for daily and vacationing scheduling for the nursing staff of the hospital.

3.8 Supervises the review and preparation of the duty roster, advising In-charge nurses of need for amendments.

3.9 Supervising the development of appropriate inventory systems, which are ongoing, preventing shortages or overstocking in the departments.

3.10 Coordinates patient placement for optimal utilization of beds and equipment’s based on triaging of patient care needs.

3.11 Ensures preventive and ongoing maintenance of equipment is carried out and reporting all failures or deficiencies through appropriate department heads.

3.12 Plans the orientations of all new staff

3.13 Facilitates the placement of patients in conjunction with Admission, Discharge, Transfer, and as necessary, in liaison with the In-charge nurses.

3.14 Organizes emergency medications, equipment, supplies and services for patient care needs.

3.15 Conducts organized, timely nursing rounds to assess current situation of the patients.

3.16 Acts as managerial resource for In-charge nurses and all nursing staff.

3.17 Coordinates in the patient transfer in and transfer out process of the hospital

3.18 Coordinates the ambulance movement for transferring patients in the hospital as well as while transferring patients out of the hospital.

3.19 Manages Disaster Control Center in emergency situations till Medical Director, Administrative Director or Nursing Director arrives.

3.20 Assist in the development of unit Policy and Procedures which involve all patient care issues and acts as an advocate for patients and nursing.

3.21 Actively participates in the nominated hospital committee meetings

3.22 Demonstrates deep knowledge of fire safety, patient safety, infection control, waste management and the other necessary precautions as per hospital policy.

3.23 Carries out any other duties assigned by the Nursing Administrator.

3.24 Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards and procedures and cooperate with hospital management to comply those requirements

3.25 Work accordance with the documented OSH procedures and instructions, specific responsibilities

3.26 Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures

3.27 Notifying OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues and assistance with the preparation of risk assessments, incident reports

3.28 Comply with Waste management procedures and policies

3.29 Attend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills and awareness programs

3.30 Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems

3.31 Ensure that employee follow applicable OSH/ Infection control policies, procedures and standards

3.32 Provide OSH information, training and Supervision to the staff

3.33 Report any OSH relevant Incident, Near misses and hazards in the departments in timely manner.

3.34 Make sure that incident corrective action has been implemented.

3.35 Assist with preparation of risk assessments and monitoring the control measures.

3.36 Ensure trainings are conducted, including general/departmental/FMS/OSH orientation for new employees and transferred employees, refresher training for department staff etc.

4.1 Bachelor of Science in Nursing / Diploma in Nursing.

4.2 Minimum of 5 years’ experience in outpatient department with at least 2 years’ experience as In charge Nurse or equivalent grade in relevant clinical area

4.3 Fluent spoken and written English. Spoken Arabic is advantageous but not essential.

4.4 Demonstrates sound decision-making and leadership abilities.
