We are looking for an SRE Kubernetes Platform Engineer to help NNIT, and our clients build, operate and improve secure, reliable on-premises Kubernetes platforms. You will work across site reliability engineering, DevOps and platform engineering. The role combines operational responsibility with advisory work and technical implementation.
You will help development teams and customers adopt effective practices for continuous integration and delivery, automation, containerization, infrastructure as code, configuration as code, automated testing and feedback loops. Your responsibilities Resolve incidents and service requests in collaboration with internal teams and customers. Operate, maintain and upgrade Kubernetes platforms and related tooling, including OpenShift, Rancher and Argo CD.
Improve the reliability, performance, security and operational processes of Kubernetes environments. Design and implement automated solutions for NNIT and our customers. Advise customers on their DevOps and platform engineering journeys.
Assess available technologies and recommend appropriate solutions. Build prototypes and proof-of-concepts to evaluate future products and technologies. Develop and maintain automated deployment, testing and operational workflows.
Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes and implement lasting improvements. Integrate DevOps practices and tooling into software development processes. Contribute to continuous integration, continuous delivery and infrastructure automation.
Translate technical requirements into practical solutions that support business needs. Your qualifications You have at least three years of experience in a technical engineering role such as Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Operations Engineer, Platform Engineer or a similar position. You also have: Proven experience with Linux administration.
Practical experience designing and operating on-premises Kubernetes platforms. Experience with software development, scripting or a developer-oriented engineering environment. Experience with automation, including automated deployments, testing and operational tasks.
Knowledge of DevOps and its tools. Experience with continuous integration and delivery. Experience with scripting in one or more of the following: Bash, Python or PowerShell.
The ability to package, deploy and operate the components required by an application or product. The ability to work with Agile, ITIL and DevOps practices in both technical and business contexts. Experience with several of the following technologies and practices: GitOps, Kubernetes, OpenShift or Rancher, Helm, Azure and Azure DevOps, including Pipelines and Key Vault, Argo CD, Ansible As a person You are curious, take ownership and enjoy working as part of a team.
You approach complex problems analytically and proactively, and you communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You are comfortable working in a consulting environment where priorities can vary between operational support, customer advisory work and the implementation of new solutions. You are also willing to continuously develop your skills as technologies and customer needs evolve.
