Staff UI Developer

Responsibilities:

• Own module boundaries, state/data flow, rendering strategy, and extensibility.
• Drive the frontend roadmap through RFCs and architecture reviews, balancing speed-to-market with long-term maintainability.
• Own frontend performance across large documents, long sessions, and memory usage.
• Set the bar for testing, CI quality gates, observability, and release reliability to ensure a "zero-regression" culture.
• Partner closely with Design, Product, and Backend teams on key tradeoffs, API design, and distributed systems.
• Mentor engineers and raise the frontend engineering craft across the organization through code reviews and technical workshops.

Requirements:

• 8-13 years of professional experience building large-scale web applications.
• 2-4 years in a lead or staff capacity, owning frontend architecture and technical strategy.
• Deep Technical Expertise: Mastery of React and TypeScript for complex, high-performance UIs.
• Complex UI Experience: Proven track record building large editors or complex UI systems (canvas, node-based editors, multi-pane layouts, or timelines).
• State Architecture Mastery: Deep experience with modern state management (e. g., Zustand, Recoil, Jotai, and Redux) and reactive programming.
• Performance Optimization: Proven ability to optimize web applications under real-world conditions (memory management, rendering bottlenecks).
• Systems Thinking: Experience partnering on API design and understanding distributed systems tradeoffs.
• Infrastructure Ownership: Previous ownership of build tooling, testing strategy, and observability at scale.
