About the job:

Nurture and Grow Packaging segment business by

1. Be the region’s focal point for product and application requests from customers 35%

2. Develop and execute the Packaging segment business strategy for APAC region 30%

3. Supply Packaging application knowledge to enable our customers to grow 15%

4. Maintain good technical relationship with the customers 10%

5. Act as interface between regional sales organization, marketing, RD&I and Production 10%

In your future role as a Technical Sales Engineer you will:

· Understand Nouryon’s product portfolio offerings in the Packaging segment and value propositions, such as microsphere, Levasil, chelates, CMC, etc.,

· Deep understanding of technical knowhow in the pulp & paper industry value chain

· Support sales and marketing team to develop strategies for packaging segment in the APAC region

· Handle application questions and technical discussions with regional customers, with focus on operational support and existing application refinement/optimization.

· Maintain regional technical support/relationship with (key) customers and distributors and run development projects together with them with a clear focus on creating and safeguarding short to mid-term sales.

· Support account managers in developing sales opportunities and converting them into real sales.

· Responsible for local execution and enablement of applications and solutions.

· While the focus is mostly Regional, need to share information and gained insights on a global level (e.g. with Technical Development Managers (TDM) and Market Segment Leads).

· Lead investigations and resolutions of customer complaints in the region.

· Maintain close contact with ISC (Integrated Supply Chain) stakeholders.

· Grow technical competence through participation in trade shows, courses and seminars relevant to the region.

· Develop and maintain contacts with technical staff of key customers.

· Run development projects and activities together with customers.

· Initiate lab work requests.

We believe you bring:

· MSc or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical engineering or Materials Science.

· Solid background in the pulp and paper industry

· Service and customer driven.

· Strong cross-functional collaboration skills.

· Good analytical skills.

· Problem solving attitude. Ability to listen to customers and propose solutions that meet customer needs.

· Fluent in English.

· Minimum 10 years’ relevant job experience.

Good to know:

This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, reporting to the Business Development Manager APAC and is based in Shanghai China location.
