Buck On Operator

The operator is responsible for checking that product:

Matches the work order and approved sample.

Has the correct dimensions and orientation.

Is properly aligned, seated, attached, or bucked on.

Is free of damage, contamination, burrs, cracks, loose parts, or other visible defects.

Is properly identified and packaged.

Nonconforming product must be identified, segregated, and reported according to the site quality procedure. Do not rework or release questionable material without authorization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Inspect the machine, tools, guards, and safety devices before starting work.

Review the production schedule, work order, drawings, and quality requirements.

Verify that the correct materials and components are available.

Set up and operate the CSO/buck-on equipment according to approved procedures.

Monitor machine operation and product quality throughout the shift.

Make approved adjustments to maintain proper alignment, fit, size, pressure, temperature, or position.

Perform first-piece and in-process inspections.

Identify and separate defective or questionable material.

Report equipment problems, safety concerns, and quality issues immediately.

Complete production, inspection, downtime, and scrap records accurately.

Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and minor operator maintenance as authorized.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation.

Follow all PPE, lockout/tagout, chemical-handling, and emergency procedures.

Communicate shift information and outstanding issues to the next operator.

Perform other production duties assigned by supervision.

Required Qualifications

Ability to read and follow work instructions and production documents.

Basic math and measurement skills.

Ability to use gauges, measuring tools, and inspection equipment.

Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and work around production equipment.

Previous machine-operator or manufacturing experience preferred.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Must complete required training before operating equipment independently.
