Business Data Scientist

This position will partner with cross-functional teams to extract, model, and visualize data from ERP, CRM, and external macroeconomic sources. Using Python, Snowflake, and Power BI, the role will develop predictive and segmentation models, deliver actionable business analytics, create dashboards and KPIs, identify trends and performance drivers, and translate complex data into insights that improve forecasting, resource allocation, operational efficiency, and bottom-line results. The position will also support data-governance initiatives to ensure consistent, reliable, and trusted information across the organization.

• Develop and deliver advanced analytics and machine learning models to support business performance and strategic decisions.
• Integrate ERP, CRM, and macro-economic data to generate actionable insights for leadership and functional teams.
• Design, implement, and deploy predictive, classification, clustering, and optimization models.
• Create and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting tools to monitor key performance indicators.
• Conduct data mining, statistical analysis, and visualizations to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to drive adoption of analytics-based process changes.
• Participate in data-governance initiatives to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance.
• Document requirements, support change management, and assist in process-improvement projects.
• Manage large-scale data processing workflows in Snowflake and ensure cloud-based data infrastructure reliability.
• Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Perform other work related tasks as assigned.
• Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience, or equivalent education, in data science, analytics, or business analysis in a manufacturing or industrial environment (preferred).
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and modern analytics libraries for machine learning and statistical modeling.
• Demonstrated ability to build models that drive revenue growth, cost reduction, and bottom-line improvement.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaborative teamwork skills.
• Experience with process innovation, change management, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Action-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and business acumen.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s/Ph.D. degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong experience with Snowflake for data warehousing, integration, and analytics.
• Expertise in Power BI for data visualization, dashboard creation, and reporting.
• Hands-on experience with ERP and CRM systems and large, multi-dimensional data sets.
