Area Manager

We're looking for an Area Manager to lead our North Lakes and Burpengary locations on a full-time, 12-month fixed-term basis.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll support your teams on the ground, coach performance, solve operational challenges, and ensure the right vehicles are available for customers.
Your Role

- Lead the overall performance of the North Lakes and Burpengary locations.
- Coach and develop team members to achieve customer service, sales, and operational targets.
- Build a positive, accountable, and high-performing team culture through effective performance management and feedback.
- Resolve customer escalations and support the team in delivering outstanding service.
- Manage rostering, productivity, and labour costs to meet operational needs.
- Support fleet planning and vehicle availability to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Monitor KPIs and branch performance, implementing action plans where required.
- Maintain safety, compliance, and operational standards across both locations.
Your Skills
- Operational Leadership: Experience leading teams within car rental, transport, logistics, fleet, tourism, hospitality, accommodation or similar operational environments.
- People Leadership: Proven ability to coach staff, manage performance and create a culture of accountability and teamwork.
- Customer Focus: Experience handling customer issues, resolving escalations, and driving positive service outcomes.
- Commercial Awareness: Comfortable working with KPIs, budgets, productivity measures and operational reporting.
- Planning & Problem Solving: Able to manage competing priorities, solve operational challenges, and keep operations running smoothly.
- Hands-On Approach: Willing to support frontline operations when required and lead by example. This is not a desk-based leadership role.
Car rental experience will be highly regarded but is not essential.
All successful applicants must complete a National Criminal History Check, hold a current full driver’s licence, and have full Australian working rights.
