About the Role

We are seeking a Physical Security Manager to develop and implement security strategies that safeguard Nscale's people, facilities, assets and information. You will lead physical security operations, build and maintain a secure work environment, and partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to strengthen Nscale's security programme.

This role is based in our Seattle, Washington office and requires onsite work five days a week.

What you'll be doing

Security Strategy and Operations

• Develop and implement security strategies, policies and procedures to protect personnel, assets, facilities and information.
• Assess potential risks and vulnerabilities; conduct security assessments, audits and inspections; and implement improvements.
• Manage access control systems, surveillance equipment and other security technologies to ensure their proper functioning and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with Human Resources, IT and other internal teams to integrate security requirements into business processes and projects.
• Stay informed about security technologies, trends and regulatory requirements, and recommend enhancements to the security programme.

Team Leadership and Awareness

• Lead, hire, train and supervise security personnel, including performance management.
• Foster a culture of security awareness and educate employees on security policies, protocols and procedures through training and communication initiatives.

Incident Response and Partnerships

• Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures, ensuring employees understand their roles and responsibilities.
• Investigate security breaches, incidents and violations; document findings; and implement corrective actions.

KPIs

• Reduction in product and platform security risk and recurring vulnerability types
• Time to validate, prioritize, and resolve reported vulnerabilities
• Security review and threat-modeling coverage for critical products and platform changes
• Adoption and effectiveness of secure engineering standards and controls

About You

• A professional certification in security management, such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP), is a plus.
• At least five years of experience in security management, law enforcement or the armed forces, with a strong understanding of security principles and practices.
• Experience developing and implementing security policies, procedures and programmes.
• Experience conducting security assessments, audits and investigations at scale.
• Knowledge of access control systems, CCTV surveillance, incident-management software and other security technologies.
• Leadership experience, including the ability to lead and motivate a diverse security team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the discretion to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Knowledge of emergency response planning and incident management, including training or experience in emergency response, is a plus.

The range below reflects the base salary for the position. Actual compensation may vary based on job-related factors such as skill set, experience, education, and location. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for bonus, equity, and/or commission programs. Nscale may offer a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, flexible paid time off, parental leave, and retirement plan participation.

Salary Range

$150,000—$180,000 USD
