The Managed Services Cross Technology Engineer (L3) is a seasoned engineering role, responsible for providing a service to clients by proactively identifying and resolving technical incidents and problems.

Through pre-emptive service incident and resolution activities, as well as product reviews, operational improvements, operational practices, and quality assurance this role will maintain a high level of service to clients.

The primary objective of this role is to ensure zero missed service level agreement (SLA) conditions. The Managed Services Cross Technology Engineer (L3) is responsible for managing tickets of high complexity, conducts advanced and complicated tasks, and provides resolution to a diverse range of complex problems.

This position uses considerable judgment and independent analysis within defined policies and practices and applies analytical thinking and deep technical expertise in achieving client outcomes, while coaching and mentoring junior team members across functions.

The Managed Services Cross Technology Engineer (L3) focusses across two or more technology domains such as (but not limited to) Cloud, Security, Networking, Applications and / or Collaboration and may also contribute to / support on project work as and when required.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage and deploy Logstash pipelines as part of the ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) stack

· Handle Service Requests (SR) and Change Requests (CR) in accordance with IT service management processes

· Monitor system health and performance, ensuring high availability of infrastructure

· Set up and maintain dashboards in Kibana for operational visibility and reporting

· Configure and manage syslog collection and metrics monitoring across systems

· Perform Linux system administration, including maintenance, troubleshooting, and configuration

· Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine tasks and operational workflows

· Provide on-call support during night hours and be available for emergency call-outs, including midnight escalations, to ensure system continuity

Requirements:

· Proficient in Linux administration (e.g., RHEL or equivalent)

· Hands-on experience with the ELK stack, particularly Logstash pipeline deployment and Kibana dashboard creation

· Strong understanding of syslog and metrics concepts

· Solid foundational knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, subnetting)

· Experience managing SRs and CRs in a structured IT environment

· Scripting skills (e.g., Bash equivalent)

· Willing and able to perform standby duties, including being on-call overnight and responding to after-hours incidents when required

Good to Have:

· Familiarity with network devices such as firewalls and routers

· Experience with network device log and metrics ingestion into ELK

· Experience working in a healthcare or regulated environment is an advantage

· Good understanding of how the ELK stack or similar tool works end-to-end, including data ingestion, indexing, and visualization
