We are currently seeking a Desktop Support Engineer to join our team in Yokohama, Kanagawa (JP-14), Japan (JP).

Position Overview:

· Individuals here have a well-rounded knowledge of the policies and procedures for their work area.

· Their work may require discretion and independent judgment for non-routine matters. However, the primary focus of work activity is predominately routine.

· They may make policy recommendations to their managers and be an escalation point for less experienced team members.

· Performs basic troubleshooting, parts replacement, systems upgrades, deployment and repair on desktops / notebooks/printers.

· May respond to calls after normal business hours per leader instructions.

· Performs troubleshooting, parts replacement, system upgrades, basic deployment, and repair on desktops / notebooks/ printers.

· Identifies potential issues that could adversely impact end user experience and takes corrective action.

· This will be a full-time Onsite role.

· The individual must have excellent Japanese communication skills (spoken, reading, and written). Proficiency in English (spoken, reading, and written) is preferred and will be considered an added advantage.

Job Description

· Performs trouble-shooting parts replacement, system upgrades, advanced deployment, and repair on desktops / notebooks/ printers.

· Uses advanced tools /technical knowledge to remediate client problems and conduct scheduled installations.

· Provides technical feedback on technical process issues to improve overall service delivery.

· May act as team lead at times and coach team members.

· Identifies potential issues that could adversely impact end user experience and take corrective action.

· May assist with simple parts replacement and repair on desktops / notebooks/ printers.

· Travel may be required. (As per NTTD’s travel policy)

· May respond to calls after normal business hours per leader’s instructions.

Skills

· Proficient in Windows operating system environment

· Knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems may be required.

· Strong knowledge of Windows operating system environment.

· Solid client service skills.

· A+ desktop or equivalent skill set is required; additional certifications for various hardware platforms may be required.

· The individual must have excellent Japanese communication skills (spoken, reading, and written). Proficiency in English (spoken, reading, and written) is preferred and will be considered an added advantage.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

· Ability to physically perform general office requirements. Such as the lifting / movement of assets from one location to another within the same premises or between two different premises. (The person must be physically able to do normal office tasks, including · occasionally lifting or moving items that can weigh up to 50 pounds, with support equipment like trolleys, trays etc. )

· Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.

· Significant travel including overnight domestic trips may be required

Typical Years of Experience

· Typically requires 3-5 years’ relevant experience.

Minimum Education and Certifications

· High School Degree / Diploma or equivalent.

· Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
