This role combines hands-on development with solution architecture, technical decision-making, and team mentorship to ensure platform enhancements align with enterprise standards and long-term business objectives.

In assuming this position, you will be a critical contributor to meeting Nüvitek's mission: To deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions and services that enable our customers to rapidly adapt to dynamic environments.

Location: Chantilly, VA (Government/Contractor SCIF) - Remote

Clearance: U.S. Citizenship Required. Active Top Secret (TS) clearance required at time of hire. TS/SCI eligibility required; active TS/SCI preferred. Polygraph eligibility preferred for certain assignments.

In assuming this position, you will be a critical contributor to meeting Nuvitek's mission: To deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions and services that enable our customers to rapidly adapt to dynamic environments.

What you will do

  • Lead the technical design, development, and implementation of enterprise ServiceNow applications supporting governance, risk management, compliance, and audit operations.
  • Translate approved architecture designs and business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring applications are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with ServiceNow platform standards.
  • Develop scoped applications that extend native ServiceNow GRC/IRM capabilities while preserving out-of-the-box functionality and minimizing unnecessary customization.
  • Establish application data structures and relationships to support audit engagements, control objectives, evidence management, findings, recommendations, and corrective action tracking.
  • Design and implement application security models using access control lists (ACLs), role-based permissions, assignment groups, and record-level security to protect sensitive information.
  • Configure application access and visibility rules to ensure users can only view or modify records appropriate to their responsibilities and authorization levels.
  • Develop end-to-end workflows that support audit planning, engagement management, fieldwork, supervisory reviews, reporting, findings, and corrective action follow-up.
  • Configure and customize ServiceNow Project Portfolio Management (PPM) capabilities to support project intake, prioritization, approvals, and coordination with GRC/IRM processes.
  • Build integrations and automated processes that synchronize information across ServiceNow modules and maintain consistency throughout application workflows.
  • Develop interactive workspace and Service Portal experiences that improve usability, support business processes, and provide appropriate visibility into operational activities.
  • Implement Flow Designer automation for task assignments, approval routing, notifications, review processes, and workflow completion requirements.
  • Design and configure risk and compliance solutions that support entity management, control objectives, control assignments, attestations, and testing activities.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of enterprise control frameworks, including mapping controls to applicable entities and business functions.
  • Develop solutions for tracking audit findings, recommendations, remediation activities, and corrective action plans.
  • Plan and execute data migration activities from legacy systems into ServiceNow, including data mapping, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.
  • Establish technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design decisions, development standards, and implementation procedures.
  • Lead technical reviews of code, application configurations, and update sets to ensure quality, security, maintainability, and upgrade compatibility.
  • Participate in architecture reviews and present proposed solutions, technical recommendations, and implementation decisions to senior stakeholders.
  • Provide technical direction, mentorship, and development guidance to engineers and developers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with project leadership, business process owners, and technical teams to manage backlogs, assess development priorities, and resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Support Agile delivery activities, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, technical estimation, and retrospectives.
  • Oversee technical testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), deployment preparation, knowledge transfer, and post-implementation support.

What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent education and professional experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Extensive hands-on experience designing, developing, and implementing ServiceNow solutions, particularly within GRC and IRM.
  • Strong functional knowledge of ServiceNow Risk Management, Audit Management, and Policy and Compliance Management.
  • Experience configuring GRC/IRM data structures, including entities, entity types, controls, control objectives, and related assessment records.
