What You Will Experience in this position:
- Operate machinery, hand tools, and pneumatic tools involved in highly repetitive and routine functions such as riveting, drilling, gluing, and assembling.
- Operate forklift equipment to pull materials
- Install hardware, perform quality inspection/checks, package finished goods for shipping.
- Work in a repetitive, fast paced environment and participate in teams to improve processes.
- Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition
- Support the production process by filling in positions on the line when necessary to maintain the flow of work when absences occur (Vacation, PTO, Restroom breaks, etc.).
- Be a change agent and drive out waste throughout department through the deployment of the Lean methodology.
- Execute and coordinate employee cross training to ensure to achieve optimal team functionality.
- Coordinate the timely and accurate movement of material into, within and out of assigned work area as needed.
- Drive a continuous improvement culture by involving employees in problem solving and decision making as well as recognizing them for exceptional work.
- May be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
You have:
- High school diploma or G.E.D., preferred
- Experience in manufacturing setting, preferred (1-2 years)
- Computer experience with Windows Word, Excel, Outlook, JD Edwards and the Internet
- Forklift experience, preferred
- Good communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment
- Skill in analytical thinking and problem solving
- Experience operating automated dispensing, CNC, robotic, or gasket application equipment is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, production schedules, and engineering drawings.
- Basic computer skills for entering production data and operating machine interfaces.
- Ability to perform quality inspections using measuring tools, gauges, and visual standards.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure gasket placement, size, and quality meet specifications.
- Ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues and notify maintenance when required.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while meeting productivity goals.
- Capable of standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 35-50 pounds throughout the shift.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S standards.
- Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and proper use of PPE.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed to meet production demands.
