How do we work?

As our Staff Systems Administrator, you will be a part of the global Corporate IT team, where we are responsible for ensuring high availability, performance and security of critical internal systems.

In this role, you will:

• Ensure high availability, performance, and security of critical systems

• Lead design sessions, retrospectives, and driving automation initiatives

• Evaluate emerging technologies and contributing to OANDA's technology roadmap

• Mentor other systems administrators and running training sessions

• Translate complex technical topics for non-technical audiences

• Provide technical oversight on infrastructure projects

What skillset do you need to be successful in this role?

• 10+ years in systems administration (5+ in a senior/lead capacity)

• Deep knowledge of Windows & macOS, networking (TCP/IP, SSL), and virtualisation

• Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred) and hybrid environments

• Solid Google Workspace administration knowledge

• Understanding of IAM/PAM (SailPoint) concepts and practices

• Familiarity with security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST) and disaster recovery planning

• A passion for AI and its potential to transform IT operations

• Excellent communication skills - you can make the complex feel simple

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or equivalent experience (Master's a plus)

Nice to have:

• Linux experience and Azure knowledge

• Scripting & automation skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash, Terraform, Ansible)

• VDI experience (Workspot)

• Industry certifications such as MCSE, RHCE, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or Professional Workspace Administrator.
