- Matric / Senior Certificate
- Tertiary qualification in Sales, Marketing or Business is an advantage
- At least 8 to 10 years’ sales experience in food ingredients or FMCG, including at least 3 years in a sales management or team leadership role
- A proven track record of hunting and winning new business
- Proven key account experience selling into industrial food manufacturers and bakeries (retail or merchandising experience alone will not be considered)
- Strong knowledge of the Gauteng industrial and bakery landscape
- Excellent negotiation, relationship building and presentation skills
- A results driven, organised approach and the ability to manage your own time in the field
- Computer literacy (MS Office; CRM experience is an advantage)
- A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel extensively within the region
- Leading, coaching and holding the Gauteng field sales team accountable for targets, call cycles and new business
- Hunting for and landing new accounts, and setting the example for the team
- Driving sales and GP growth, and achieving volume, revenue and margin targets across the region
- Managing and growing key accounts across industrial food manufacturing and bakery, as well as foodservice and wholesale
- Negotiating pricing, trade terms and deals that grow volume while protecting margin
- Monitoring market trends and competitor activity to stay a step ahead
- Planning and tracking territory coverage, pipeline and team performance
- Reporting on sales performance, forecasts and market feedback to management
- Working closely with procurement, customer service and logistics so customers are supplied and serviced
