Head Waiter/Waitress

The Head Waiter / Waitress is responsible for supervising the service team and ensuring efficient, professional, and high-quality guest service within the restaurant or outlet.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise, guide, train, and motivate Waiters and Waitresses to maintain excellent service standards.
• Ensure smooth daily restaurant operations, including mise en place, service, clearing, and cleaning.
• Welcome guests, take orders accurately, and ensure timely communication with the kitchen and bar.
• Monitor guest satisfaction, anticipate guest needs, and handle complaints and requests professionally.
• Provide accurate information about menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
• Double-check food and beverage orders before serving to ensure accuracy and presentation standards.
• Present and process guest bills, ensure payments/signatures are completed, and follow up on pending bills.
• Promote upselling opportunities and contribute to increased F&B revenue.
• Maintain cleanliness of furniture, fixtures, equipment, and assigned service areas.
• Handle equipment and materials carefully to minimize breakage and loss.
• Participate in stocktaking and inventory activities when required.
• Report maintenance issues, technical faults, accidents, and incidents to the appropriate supervisor.
• Maintain effective communication with management, kitchen, bar, and service teams.
• Obtain guest feedback and communicate suggestions for service improvement.
• Maintain professional grooming, hygiene, attendance, teamwork, and conduct.
• Participate in departmental training and comply with hotel policies, procedures, Health & Safety requirements, and applicable employment regulations.
