OCH Technologies modernizes federal systems where operational continuity is not negotiable. Software development, systems modernization, cybersecurity, cloud engineering, and IT operations across 11 federal agencies.

Description

OCH Technologies is seeking a Construction Project Manager to manage a new FAA facility construction and buildout projects for the Brand New Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS) program, from design review through construction, commissioning, and turnover. This role works with the prime contractor's program team, FAA facility and operations staff, architects, engineers, and general contractors to keep multiple projects on schedule, within budget, and safe. Many of these sites are active air traffic facilities, so work has to be planned around operations that can't go down. The ideal candidate has hands-on construction project management experience in the field and a track record of keeping contractors and stakeholders aligned across concurrent projects.

Location

Remote, U.S.-based. Candidates must live within reasonable access of a major airport to support regular travel to FAA facilities and project sites

Travel

Approximately 40% or more during the initial buildout phase, with travel expected to decrease as projects progress. Regular travel to FAA facilities and construction sites, including overnight and multi-day trips, will remain a requirement.

Core Responsibilities & Duties

  • Coordinate and manage multiple concurrent FAA facility construction and buildout projects from design review through closeout and turnover.
  • Build and maintain project schedules, track progress against milestones, and drive corrective action when work slips.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and submittals to identify constructability concerns, code compliance issues, and alignment with FAA facility standards and contract requirements.
  • Monitor general contractor and subcontractor performance on site, including schedule adherence, quality, safety compliance, inspections, and documentation; identify issues and coordinate corrective actions with appropriate project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with FAA facility and operations staff to plan work around live operations, including site access, construction phasing, and cutover.
  • Track project cost, change orders and RFIs, and flag budget or schedule risk early.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, systems integrators and trades so facility readiness lines up with equipment installation.
  • Produce status reports, risk logs and briefings for the prime contractor and FAA stakeholders.
  • Support commissioning, punch lists and turnover documentation.
  • Support proposal efforts and organic growth opportunities as needed.

Responsibilities may evolve over time to support team and organizational goals, but will remain consistent with the overall scope of the role.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture or related discipline. Additional relevant experience may substitute for a degree.

Experience

  • A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant construction project management experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent construction projects involving civil, mechanical, and electrical and other construction disciplines
  • Experience monitoring and evaluating contractor and subcontractor performance, including field progress, site inspections, safety compliance, and quality assurance and quality control
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting construction drawings, technical specifications, and submittals
  • Proficiency in construction scheduling, project tracking, and document management software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Procore, or comparable platforms

Security Clearance Requirement

Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing construction projects at FAA facilities, such as Air Traffic Control Towers (ATCTs), Terminal Radar Approach Control facilities (TRACONs), and Air Route Traffic Control Centers (ARTCCs), or at comparable operational aviation facilities.
  • Experience managing military or other federal government facility construction projects
  • Experience on projects in occupied or mission-critical facilities where operations can't be interrupted
  • Experience coordinating facility readiness with electronic or communications systems installation
  • Professional certification, such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or an equivalent recognized credential.
  • SHA 30-Hour Construction safety training certification or equivalent OSHA-authorized training.

Other Required Skills and Abilities

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with customers and fulfill all duties and responsibilities as listed in the contract.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite including, but not limited to, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel frequently, including overnight and multi-day trips.
  • Reliable home workspace and internet connection suitable for remote work.
  • Ability to access active construction sites, climb ladders and stairs, and walk uneven terrain while wearing required PPE.
  • Ability to take initiative on project tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Provide expertise and assistance with proposal efforts.
