The job details are as follows:

The Product Manager, Linked Data Applications owns the strategy, roadmap, and outcomes for the applications that enable libraries to create and use linked data (for example, WorldCat Entities, Meridian, and Zenith). The role turns library workflows and community needs into products that make entity-based metadata practical at scale.

Working with engineering, UX, data science, metadata quality and go-to-market teams, the Product Manager defines what gets built and why, guides delivery, and measures adoption and value. The role represents OCLC in the library linked data community.

Key responsibilities

Product strategy and roadmap, delivery and execution

  • Set the multi-year vision and roadmap for linked data applications, aligned with OCLC strategy and the metadata portfolio.
  • Prioritize using customer evidence, usage data and business impact.
  • Track standards and community direction, particularly BIBFRAME and IFLA LRM, and translate them into product decisions.

Customer and market insight

  • Conduct ongoing discovery with catalogers, metadata managers, systems librarians and library leaders to understand workflows and pain points.
  • Synthesize feedback from advisory groups, user communities, support and sales into clear problem statements and action.
  • Assess competitive and adjacent offerings and identify where to lead, partner or integrate.

Go-to-market and adoption

  • Partner with marketing, sales, training and support on positioning, packaging, pricing input, launch plans and enablement.
  • Define and monitor success metrics (adoption, engagement, entity growth and reuse, customer satisfaction, revenue) and act on the results.

Community and stakeholder engagement

  • Represent OCLC at conferences, working groups and community forums; present product direction to customers and partners.
  • Connect OCLC Research and standards work to product outcomes.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of product management experience, or equivalent leading a department, program or major projects in a library, archive or cultural heritage organization.
  • Working knowledge of linked data (RDF, URIs, ontologies, entity modeling, SPARQL).
  • Familiarity with library metadata standards (MARC, BIBFRAME, RDA, authority control).
  • Experience defining requirements and delivering systems or workflows with technical teams.
  • Sound data-informed judgment and strong communication with technical and non-technical audiences. Strong presentation skills with internal and external audiences.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

Preferred qualifications

  • MLS/MLIS or equivalent graduate degree.
  • Deep knowledge of library metadata workflows and hands-on experience with creating description.
  • Experience with knowledge graphs, Wikidata/Wikibase, or identifiers (e.g. ISNI, ORCID, VIAF, LC/NAF).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of AI in day-to-day workflows and product development.
  • Understanding of how AI and machine learning can support entity extraction, reconciliation and metadata enrichment.
