Operations Lead

We are looking for an Operations Lead to join our esports and gaming studio operations team in São Paulo.

In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the studio's day-to-day operations, ensuring that competitive matches, live broadcasts, and player activities run smoothly, efficiently, and according to established procedures.

You will work closely with players, referees, broadcast operators, and other studio staff, monitoring live operations, resolving issues, and making quick decisions when necessary.

Experience in esports, gaming, tournaments, live production, broadcast, or sports operations is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily studio operations and ensure the smooth execution of all activities;
• Plan shift schedules and ensure adequate staffing and coverage;
• Coordinate player rosters, match schedules, and daily operational plans;
• Monitor attendance, performance, and compliance with operational procedures;
• Coordinate replacements and handle last-minute staffing requirements;
• Oversee live matches and operations, identifying and resolving operational or technical issues;
• Coordinate referees, broadcast operators, players, and other studio staff;
• Ensure that operational procedures and standards are followed during matches;
• Maintain accurate reports, schedules, and operational records;
• Support the onboarding and training of new team members;
• Identify opportunities to improve tools, processes, and workflows;
• Support the implementation and scaling of studio operations;
• Participate in initiatives related to the structure and continuous improvement of the operation;
• Handle ad hoc tasks and escalate critical issues when required.

Requirements

• Professional experience in operations, team coordination, workforce management, production, events, or shift-based environments;
• Strong organizational and planning skills;
• Experience with schedules, workforce planning, or team coordination is a plus;
• A hands-on, proactive problem-solving mindset;
• Ability to make quick decisions and remain effective under pressure;
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail;
• Basic technical understanding of software, computers, and troubleshooting;
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities;
• Willingness to work shifts, including potential weekends;
• Must have English and Portuguese.

Nice to Have

• Professional or volunteer experience in esports, gaming, or competitive gaming;
• Experience with tournaments, leagues, match operations, or competition operations;
• Experience with live broadcast, live production, or event production;
• Experience in sports operations;
• Previous experience leading or coordinating teams;
• Experience working in 24/7 or shift-based operations;
• Familiarity with OBS Studio, Discord, Slack, and Google Sheets;
• Knowledge or experience with EA SPORTS FC, NBA 2K, Madden NFL, or other competitive gaming titles;
• Previous experience as a tournament admin, referee, esports coordinator, or esports manager.

We are looking for someone who is organized, reliable, communicative, and comfortable working in a live operational environment, where decisions often need to be made quickly.

You do not necessarily need to have previously held the title of Operations Lead. Experience in esports, gaming, tournaments, live production, events, or operations coordination can also be highly relevant to this position.

More important than your previous job title is your ability to organize people and processes, solve problems, and keep operations running smoothly under pressure.
