PURPOSE OF POSITION
The accountant will be responsible for the management and control of key financial accounting functions, including financial reporting, cash flow management, taxation, budgeting, fixed assets, debtors and creditors oversight, and statutory compliance. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to financial governance, support business performance, and provide critical financial insights to management and stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Degree or Diploma in Accounting with 3-5 years' Financial Accounting experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- SAP experience will be advantageous
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports within prescribed deadlines.
- Perform monthly general ledger, bank, trust account, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Conduct variance analyses and provide financial insights and recommendations to management and key stakeholders.
- Monitor cash flow requirements and support effective cash management practices.
- Review creditor reconciliations and ensure accurate and timely supplier payments.
- Manage VAT reconciliations, tax-related activities, and statutory submissions.
- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets, system uploads, and monthly reporting of actual performance against budget.
- Prepare half-year and year-end financial reports, including financial statements, in accordance with Corporate Finance requirements.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audit processes for the company and properties under management.
