Job Description
The Remuneration and Benefits Consultant is responsible for the effective administration and delivery of the organisation's payroll, remuneration and benefits practices, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality and full compliance with Namibian labour and tax legislation. The role provides specialist support in payroll processing, statutory reporting and reconciliations, salary benchmarking and benefits administration, while maintaining the integrity of employee data on the Human Resources Information Management System. Through sound analysis, reporting and stakeholder engagement, the incumbent contributes to fair, competitive and sustainable reward practices that support the achievement of business objectives.- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Labour Act, Social Security Act, Pension Fund Act, Income Tax Act and relevant employment laws;
- Ensure that Old Mutual employment, Remuneration and Benefits Practices comply with legislation and are tax compliant;
- Develops, implements and monitors remuneration and benefits best practice, policies and procedures;
- Develops positive relationships with both internal and external key stakeholders;
- Conducts industry benchmarking and research;
- Consults and communicates to business regarding remuneration & benefits practices;
- Implements changes to the HR data systems and provides monthly reporting and trend-analysis;
- Anticipates long term implications of current and emerging employment trends and integrates these into business strategies;
- Ensure integration with all other practices in the business;
- Providing a proactive, efficient, confidential and professional administrative service to internal customers with regards to payroll administration, all HR Data and managing integrity of data on the Human Resources Information Management System (HRMS);
- Administering the company payroll and ensuring that payroll deadlines are met;
- Identify, clarify and solve payroll-related queries, whilst maintaining appropriate feedback channels to ensure accuracy and completeness;
- Prepare and submit payroll tax returns and reports;
- Prepare and submit social security contributions, pension deductions, and other statutory payments;
- Support budgeting and forecasting by providing payroll cost data;
- Provide payroll documentation for internal and external audits;
- Reconcile payroll records with the general ledger and investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies.
Minimum Requirements:
Citizenship
- Namibian citizenship
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Accounting, Human Resources, Commerce, or a related field (NQF Level 7).
Experience
- Minimum 5 years' relevant experience
- Knowledge of Namibian labour legislation, including the Labour Act, Social Security Act, Pension Funds Act and Income Tax Act.
- Previous working experience of Oracle / SAP System will be an added advantage.
- Advanced analytical and reporting skills, particularly Excel proficiency;
