The Capture Group of OpenText Enterprise Content Management platforms division is focusing on the development and maintenance of the Capture product line. The Capture technology transforms electronic and paper documents into application-ready information providing a flexible, end-to-end capture solution that includes document capture, document classification, data extraction, information validation, and delivery to backend system.

Your Impact:

You will be responsible for leading a multiple local agile development teams that will evolve the current Capture Product portfolio to the next-generation Capture platform, supporting traditional capture technologies and AI.

You will provide technical and project leadership in delivering product components and product versions during the whole software lifecycle.

You will be responsible for People management, product delivery, innovation, managing risks and ongoing maintenance.

This position requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and “hands-on” product development skills. You must have strong technical background, and proficient in motivating and leading the team, through vision, strategic positioning, product delivery. You must be highly energetic and passionate about product development (C#, C++ and Angular JS), track performance and show continuous improvement. You will provide mentoring and coaching for the team to develop an iterative, continuous approach to feature delivery.

What the role offers:

As a Manager, Software Development, you will:

  • Help a team achieve sprint/release goals while partnering with the Product Manager on overall business goals
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure plans & resources are coordinated, and product deliverables are well defined, scoped and achieved
  • Deliver on time, budget and agreed quality standards
  • Facilitate planning, daily stand-ups and retrospectives
  • Provide guidance, technical feedback and ensure release goal is achieved
  • Provide visibility to team impediments/risks and helps eliminate them
  • Ensure appropriate and timely reporting
  • Manage communication cross-functionally and escalate promptly when issues arise
  • Ensure Team development and career progression
  • Align with internal development process and improve the in-house methodology and delivery processes
  • Provide guidance, technical feedback and ensure product delivery success
  • Help the team to be innovative and improve things
  • Be part of organization-wide initiatives and drive the change

What you need to succeed:

  • Minimum MS CS or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of industry engineering experience, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience with .NET or Java, modern open source projects, dev tools required.
  • Extensive experience programming/building in Unix architecture.
  • Strong background in containerization projects and containers technologies (Kubernetes, Docker)
  • Strong background in Client/server architecture
  • Experience utilizing Agile development methodologies (or similar) in practice
  • Ability to recruit, build and lead a strong team in a fast-paced environment through evolution, change and rapid growth
  • Keen willingness and proven ability to roll up your sleeves and get hands on whenever necessary
  • Client-oriented, demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate and build trust with multiple internal teams and management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Compensation: At OpenText, we offer a thoughtfully designed benefits package that supports your physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing. As you move through the hiring process, we’re happy to provide more details about our compensation programs, including variable and commission compensation opportunities for eligible roles, vacation entitlement, and paid time off.

Salary Range: $125,520.00 - $175,520.00; Depending on the candidate’s education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market, actual salary may vary and be higher or lower than the range posted.
