Service Engineer

What we’re looking for

We’re seeking a proactive Service Engineer with solid Linux expertise and a good grasp of cloud and networking fundamentals. You’re comfortable using DevOps and monitoring tools, familiar with basic database administration and SQL, and enjoy investigating issues and improving service reliability.

What you need to know :

• Technical knowledge Strong Linux knowledge (system and network parameters)
• Awareness of cloud technology and Network concepts: switching, load balancing, routing, proxy, middleware, firewalls, IPs, DNS
• Usage of Devops Tools (ElasticSearch, Grafana, Prometheus, Ansible, Git, Jenkins, CI/CD, Kubernetes)
• Generic basic database admin and sql knowledge
• Fluent in English; French will be a plus
• Autonomous with good capability for teamwork
• Solid interpersonal skills
• Technical curiosity
• Synthesis skills
• On-call duty

What you’ll be doing

• Key contributor, willing to go the extra mile to achieve desired results
• Be accountable for operations and administration of service platforms
• Real time analysis of faults and customer tickets, drive corrective actions in accordance with customer impact; perform emergency recovery actions
• Monitor performance parameters for services and platforms, initiate escalation process (including vendor) in case of detection of service or performance degradation
• Perform and drive preventative maintenance, triggers corrective actions
• Involvement and contributor on the build and integration activities
• Contribute to the launch of new services -> bringing into operations, checking current operations, platform configuration
• Coordinate / getting involve during the implementation of high-risk changes including network upgrade activities, software upgrades and infrastructure parameter changes, maintaining the quality of service and avoiding platform dysfunctionalities
• Automate service monitoring and different operational tasks to reduce circles in process
• Document temporary and permanent fixes that were deployed
• Develop different types of reports to monitor business evolution
• Participate in internal and external training sessions in order to raise technical skills
• Train/support new colleagues in Operations when needed
