シリコーン業界での経験は必須ではありません。化学、化学工学、材料科学などのバックグラウンドを持ち、研究所、パイロット設備、製造現場などで技術課題の解決に取り組んだ経験をお持ちの方を歓迎します。

主な職務内容

  • 新規技術を研究開発段階から商業化まで発展させ、事業成長につながるプロジェクトをリードする

About This Role

Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Chemical Engineer to join the Process R&D organization in Japan, supporting Resin Coating Adhesives (RCA), Emulsion Blend Powder (EBP), andAdvanced Silanes within Dow Performance Silicones. This role bridges innovation and manufacturing, supporting process development, technology commercialization, manufacturing excellence, and business growth.

Prior silicone industry experience is not required. We welcome candidates with strong technical foundations and experience in areas such as:

Organic or synthetic chemistry / Chemical engineering / Emulsion technology / Mixing and agitation / Reaction engineering / Separation processes / Process development and scale-up

Successful candidates typically have experience solving technical challenges in laboratory, pilot plant, manufacturing, or industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead process development, scale-up, and technology implementation projects
  • Support product commercialization and technology transfer activities
  • Provide technical support to Dow manufacturing sites and external contract manufacturers (ECM)
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing and process-related challenges
  • Develop and implement Most Effective Technology (MET) solutions
  • Identify and drive process innovation opportunities
  • Collaborate with customers, product development, TS&D, manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial teams
  • Generate technical documentation, invention disclosures, and patent applications where appropriate

Key Stakeholders

Commercial, Supply Chain, Product Development, TS&D, Analytical Science, Manufacturing, Capital Project Teams, EHS, Regulatory, Legal/IP, and External Contract Manufacturers.

Minimum Qualifications

- Masters degree or Ph.D. in:

Chemistry / Chemical Engineering/ Materials Science / Polymer Science / Or a related scientific discipline

- Preferred Technical Background

Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable:

Organic chemistry / Synthetic chemistry / Catalysis / Polymer science / Materials science / Process engineering / Emulsion technology / Mixing and agitation / Separation science / Process modeling / Manufacturing support / Process scale-up

- Language

Japanese: Native or fluent proficiency

English: Strong verbal and written communication skills
