East Bay Post Acute is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team on an on-call basis.
The Housekeeper plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents, visitors, and staff. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, has strong attention to detail, and understands the importance of cleanliness in a healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize resident rooms, common areas, offices, restrooms, and other facility areas
- Follow established cleaning and infection-control procedures
- Dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect surfaces as needed
- Empty trash and dispose of waste appropriately
- Clean and maintain floors, furniture, fixtures, and equipment
- Replenish cleaning and restroom supplies
- Respond to spills and cleaning needs promptly
- Maintain housekeeping equipment and supplies in a safe and orderly manner
- Follow all facility safety, sanitation, and infection-control policies
- Report maintenance, safety, or environmental concerns to the appropriate supervisor
- Assist with special cleaning projects as assigned
- Maintain a professional and respectful environment for residents, families, visitors, and staff
- Protect resident privacy and maintain confidentiality
- Perform other housekeeping duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping or environmental services experience preferred
- Healthcare or skilled nursing facility experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Dependable, punctual, and responsible
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to safely use cleaning products and housekeeping equipment
- Ability to maintain a professional and courteous attitude
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting as needed
