We're hiring a Senior Technical Lead to own, end-to-end, one of the most technically diverse systems in telecom software: a Near-RT RIC platform that ingests live radio-network telemetry and makes automated control decisions in well under one second, coordinated across 50+ interdependent microservices. You'll operate across the entire stack - from the SCTP/ASN.1 wire protocol that talks directly to the radio network, through a custom low-latency message bus routing thousands of messages between services, to the Redis-backed stateful data layer that keeps the whole system consistent under load. If you're equally comfortable in a C++ debugger chasing a race condition and in a system-design conversation about how 50 services should talk to each other, this is that role.
What You'll Do:
Own the architecture and reliability of a distributed, real-time system spanning C, C++, and Go, where control decisions must complete end-to-end in well under one second.
Work across the full stack of the platform: RAN-facing protocol termination (SCTP, ASN.1 PER-encoded E2AP), a custom high-throughput messaging layer, stateful in-memory data services (Redis), and the microservices built on top of them.
Lead cross-cutting technical initiatives - protocol upgrades, major library and version migrations, and platform-wide reliability and performance work - across a system of 50+ interdependent services.
Set architectural direction and technical standards for a fast-moving, multi-team codebase, and act as the escalation point when an issue crosses service boundaries.
- Review and guide design for the platform's most latency- and safety-critical components: message routing, subscription and state management, and RAN protocol handling.
- Mentor engineers across the stack, from systems-level C/C++ engineers to Go service developers.
What We're Looking For:
8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with deep, hands-on proficiency in C/C++ and Go.
Real experience with low-latency, high-throughput distributed systems - message
routing/queuing, stateful services, and correctness under concurrency at scale.
Comfort working close to the metal: sockets, protocol encoding/decoding, performance profiling, and Linux systems-level debugging.
Experience designing or operating systems built from dozens of independent, interacting microservices.
A track record of leading complex, multi-team technical initiatives from design through production rollout.
Nice to Have:
Experience with telecom or networking protocols (SCTP, ASN.1, or similar binary/wire protocols); O-RAN, 5G, or 4G RAN experience is a strong plus.
Experience with Kubernetes-based deployment of network functions, and with Redis, Kafka, or comparable stateful/streaming infrastructure.
Experience building or maintaining custom messaging or routing layers.
What We Offer:
Ownership of one of the most technically diverse systems in telecom - sub-second real-time control, ML-driven automation, and everything in between.
Direct influence over the architecture of a growing, open-standards-based platform.
