Principal Software Engineer - Python/C#

Job Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Principal Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable enterprise software applications and AI-powered solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python, C#/.NET, Azure Cloud, Generative AI, and Agentic AI, along with a proven track record of architecting and deploying production-grade systems.

The role involves driving technical architecture, developing intelligent applications, building distributed systems, and implementing advanced AI capabilities. The candidate will work closely with engineering teams and business stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable, and high-performance solutions while maintaining engineering excellence and architectural standards.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the architecture, design, development, and deployment of scalable enterprise applications using Python and C#/.NET.

- Develop robust applications, REST APIs, asynchronous services, and background processing systems using Python and .NET Core/.NET 8.

- Design and implement Generative AI solutions using Azure OpenAI, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.

- Build and deploy production-ready Agentic AI applications using LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, or similar frameworks.

- Develop AI-powered workflows involving embeddings, prompt engineering, structured output extraction, and model evaluation.

- Design scalable microservices, event-driven architectures, API integrations, and multi-tenant application environments.

- Architect and manage cloud-based solutions using Azure services, including AKS, Azure Functions, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL, and Azure OpenAI.

- Implement secure and scalable application architectures with appropriate data isolation, observability, and access management.

- Drive engineering practices such as Test-Driven Development (TDD), automated testing, CI/CD, and secure coding.

- Perform code reviews, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and optimize application and database performance.

- Work with Azure DevOps and Terraform to support infrastructure automation and deployment processes.

- Establish technical standards, reusable components, and architectural best practices across engineering teams.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

- Document architectural decisions, technical specifications, and implementation approaches.

- Participate in technical discussions and communicate solution designs to engineering teams, stakeholders, and clients.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- 8+ years of software engineering experience with a strong portfolio of production applications and systems designed and delivered.

- Expert-level proficiency in Python, including application development, asynchronous programming, type checking, pytest, and performance profiling.

- Strong hands-on experience with C#/.NET, object-oriented programming, .NET Core/.NET 8, REST APIs, and background services. C#/.NET experience is mandatory.

- Production experience with Generative AI technologies, including Azure OpenAI, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, and RAG architectures.

- Hands-on experience designing, developing, and deploying Agentic AI systems using LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, or equivalent frameworks.

- Strong understanding of LLMs, embeddings, prompt engineering, structured output extraction, and AI evaluation frameworks.

- Extensive knowledge of Azure services, including AKS, Azure Functions, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL, Azure OpenAI, and Azure DevOps.

- Experience with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and deployment automation.

- Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architecture, API design, and multi-tenant data isolation.

- Experience with TDD, automated testing, RBAC/IAM, secure coding practices, and SQL performance optimization.

- Ability to make architectural decisions, conduct technical reviews, and communicate complex technical concepts effectively.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and technical leadership skills.

Preferred Skills :

- Production experience with TypeScript and React for full-stack application development.

- Experience with document processing and understanding using vision-based LLMs, including GPT-4o Vision.

- Knowledge of OCR and multimodal data extraction pipelines involving PDF and DOCX documents.

- Familiarity with contract management, procurement, or invoice processing applications.

- Experience contributing to or working with open-source AI frameworks.
