Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE)

About the Role

Patsnap is looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to help enterprise customers successfully adopt AI-native solutions across IP, R&D, innovation, and strategic intelligence workflows.

This role sits at the intersection of customer delivery, product implementation, AI solution design, and business problem-solving. You will work closely with customers to understand their real business processes, configure AI Agent workflows, build practical prototypes, and turn customer-specific needs into scalable product capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Work directly with enterprise customers to understand their IP, R&D, innovation, or strategic intelligence workflows.
• Translate customer pain points into actionable AI solution designs and delivery plans.
• Configure and deploy AI Agent workflows, Skills, dashboards, reports, and automation processes.
• Build customer-facing demos and prototypes using Patsnap’s AI-native product ecosystem.
• Support proof-of-concept projects, testing, feedback collection, and iteration.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, and Solution Consulting teams.
• Identify reusable customer requirements and convert them into standardised Skills or product enhancements.
• Ensure delivery quality, data compliance, and documentation throughout engagements.

Requirements

• Experience in solution engineering, technical consulting, product delivery, implementation, or customer-facing engineering roles.
• Strong hands-on ability with AI tools, automation workflows, data analysis, or prototype building.
• Understanding of enterprise software, SaaS platforms, APIs, workflow automation, or AI Agent concepts.
• Strong communication skills and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Business-level English and Japanese preferred for Japan-facing roles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in IP, patent intelligence, R&D intelligence, legal tech, innovation management, or enterprise AI solutions.
• Experience with AI Agents, LLM applications, prompt engineering, workflow orchestration, or no-code/low-code tools.
• Technical background in software engineering, data science, or related fields.

• Customers can see a working prototype using their own business context within a short delivery cycle.
• AI workflows are embedded into the customer’s existing processes.
• Customer-specific needs are converted into reusable product capabilities or Skills.
• Delivery outcomes are measurable and directly useful to decision-making.
