Cybersecurity Engineer
Responsibilities
Peraton seeks a Cybersecurity Engineer to support Department of War Cyber Defense Command (DCDC) with defensive cyberspace operations and AI cyber security support.
Location: Fort Meade, MD.
In this role, you will perform technical cybersecurity engineering including hardening validation, security architecture implementation, and advanced threat analysis.
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform technical hardening validation
Implement security controls and configurations
Conduct security architecture reviews
Support Zero Trust implementation
Analyze advanced threats and vulnerabilities
Develop security automation solutions
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD. Will consider Associate with +10 or HS with +12 years of experience
Any IA Cybersecurity certification, such as Security+, Security X, CISSP, CCNA, CySA+, GCIA, GCIH, GICSP, Cloud+, SCYBER or equivalent.
Deep technical security engineering skills
Experience with security hardening and STIGs
Knowledge of network and application security
Scripting skills (Python, PowerShell)
Experience with cloud security
- U.S Citizenship required
- DoD TS with ability to obtain/maintain SCI clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field
- 8 years of specific experience
