The Purchasing Intern provides general support to the Purchasing department by assisting with tasks, assignments, and projects relating to Purchasing functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Shadow Purchasing Agents on negotiating process and rebate agreements for major vendors/contractors.
  • Assist Purchasing Agents to establish pricing and costs to be used by the Estimating Department.
  • Compare and evaluate market for new, potential contractors/vendors.
  • Review bids to ensure accuracy.

· Complete special projects as requested.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and current enrollment in University required.
  • Demonstrated computer skills including a working knowledge of MS Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
