THE ROLE:

We have an opportunity for a Planning Analyst to join our Planning team in Calgary, AB. Reporting to the Planning Team Lead, the successful candidate will support the broader team in business planning, budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting, and financial and commercial analysis, with a particular focus on LNG Canada-related planning activities. This role will compile and validate financial and operational information, perform preliminary analysis, prepare reports and presentation materials, and coordinate inputs from stakeholders across the organization. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, collaborative, and eager to build their experience in a corporate planning environment.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

  • Support the Planning Team Lead and broader planning team in annual business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and target-setting processes.
  • Assist with the review of LNG Canada’s Annual Work Program and Budget and other key planning documents by compiling information, conducting preliminary analysis, and preparing summaries.
  • Track financial and operational performance, including key measures, progress against plan, variances, and emerging performance gaps.
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports, presentations, and management updates to support planning and performance discussions.
  • Gather data and perform preliminary financial, commercial, project, and cost analysis for review by senior team members.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to collect information, validate assumptions and inputs, and support the timely completion of planning and reporting deliverables.
  • Maintain planning models, reporting templates, supporting schedules, and documentation to promote consistency and accuracy.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to planning, reporting, analytical tools, and team processes.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • More than three years of relevant experience in finance, planning, accounting, business analysis, or a related analytical role; relevant co-op or internship experience may be considered.
  • Energy industry experience and exposure to joint venture, LNG, or large-scale project environments would be considered assets.
  • Working toward a CPA, CFA, MBA, or other relevant designation would be considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to compile, validate, and interpret financial and operational data with guidance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to prepare clear analysis, reports, and presentation materials.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organization; experience with SAP S/4HANA, Analysis for Office, Power BI, or similar reporting tools would be considered an asset.

WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN OUR TEAM:

  • Flexible work arrangements which include a compressed work week with Friday afternoons off for office-based roles

  • Dress for your day - a casual yet professional environment

  • Ability to contribute to a dynamic organization with large growth ambitions

  • Competitive compensation and bonus programs

  • Top tier benefit package, including a generous Health and Wellness Spending Account and Savings Plan

  • Making a positive difference in our communities through volunteerism, community support and providing opportunities to those in the areas where we operate

  • Annual employee-directed charity donation program

  • Support for training and professional development
