Philips Grooming & Beauty develops innovative consumer products and experiences across Shaving, OneBlade, Grooming and Beauty, including electric shavers, trimmers and Lumea IPL hair-removal devices. Digital applications, connected experiences and AI are becoming increasingly important in our product propositions.
As Consumer Experience Research Lead - Digital, you will build and lead our growing Digital Consumer Research team in Bangalore, supporting research across Grooming & Beauty's digital and connected propositions.
We are looking for a consumer-obsessed research leader with strong experience in consumer-product development, Digital/UX research and people leadership. You understand consumer needs, behaviours and experiences and know how to translate evidence-based insights into meaningful product innovations.
You will lead and develop a team of researchers, shape the Digital Consumer Research strategy and roadmap, establish clear research priorities and act as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders across R&D, Product Management, Marketing and the G&B categories.
Your Role:
- Consumer Research Excellence: Lead high-quality qualitative, quantitative and mixed-method research, translating consumer needs and behaviours into actionable product requirements and evidence-based decisions.
- People Leadership & Coaching: Lead, coach and develop a growing team of Consumer Researchers, including responsibility for team performance, individual development, feedback and effective resource allocation.
- Digital & Connected Product Research: Guide research across apps, digital experiences, AI-enabled features and connected consumer products, ensuring an integrated understanding of the physical and digital consumer journey.
- Research Strategy & Prioritization: Develop a proactive Digital Consumer Research roadmap, set clear priorities across G&B categories and balance consumer impact, business needs, research quality and available capacity.
- Stakeholder Management & Influence: Act as the primary Consumer Research partner for Digital R&D, Product, Design and Marketing. Challenge assumptions, influence senior stakeholders and ensure the consumer perspective is central to product decisions.
- Research Operations & Continuous Improvement: Ensure effective research planning, execution and reporting, establish consistent quality standards and improve research capabilities, processes and knowledge sharing.
You're the right fit if:
- You have Bachelor's or Master's degree with 12-15+ years of relevant Consumer Research, UX Research or Product Research experience, preferably within a consumer-product R&D environment.
- You demonstrate a strong consumer-centric mindset, with concrete examples of translating consumer understanding and research evidence into product innovations and decisions.
- You have strong qualitative and quantitative research expertise, including the ability to select appropriate methodologies and interpret data critically.
- You bring proven Digital/UX research experience, ideally covering apps, connected products and integrated hardware-software experiences.
- You have direct people-management experience, including coaching, developing and managing the performance of researchers or comparable specialist teams.
- You demonstrate strong strategic thinking, prioritization and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to challenge and influence senior business and R&D stakeholders.
- You have experience working closely with R&D, Engineering, Design and Product Development teams in an international environment.
