Purpose of the role

We are hiring a Senior Corvil Sales Engineer in New York to help accelerate Corvil growth across the Americas. This role will be a technical leader for pre-sales engagement, customer discovery, solution design, proof-of-value execution and technical account development for Corvil Analytics. The successful candidate will work closely with sales, product, services and engineering to position Corvil as a strategic observability and analytics platform for complex capital markets environments. The role requires deep credibility with senior technical stakeholders, hands-on expertise in trading infrastructure and packet-derived analytics, and the commercial judgement to connect technical capability to customer outcomes, bookings growth and long-term account expansion.

Responsibilities and duties (include but are not limited to)

  • Lead technical discovery and solution positioning for Corvil Analytics across banks, brokers, exchanges, market makers, service providers and strategic enterprise accounts.
  • Translate customer pain points into clear Corvil value propositions, including trading business observability, network and application observability, market data quality, execution transparency, compliance evidence, operational resilience and faster incident resolution.
  • Build trust with senior technical and business stakeholders across trading technology, network engineering, application support, market data, operations, compliance, quants and executive sponsor groups.
  • Own the technical sales motion from qualification through architecture design, proof-of-value, sizing, proposal support and technical validation.
  • Provide hands-on post-sales configuration and implementation support where appropriate, including deployment planning, initial system configuration, data capture validation, use-case enablement and knowledge transfer to customer operations, engineering and support teams
  • Design credible Corvil architectures covering network capture, analytics, protocol decoding, timestamping, storage, streaming data, integrations and deployment across complex multi-site trading environments.
  • Run high-impact demonstrations and proof-of-value engagements using customer use cases, live traffic where appropriate and outcome-based success criteria.
  • Partner with sales to develop account plans, identify expansion opportunities, support pipeline progression and help convert technical engagement into bookings.
  • Identify opportunities to expand Corvil from network monitoring into broader trading analytics, enterprise observability, data platform, AI-ready integration and operational intelligence use cases.
  • Capture customer requirements, competitive intelligence and field feedback, and work with product management and engineering to influence roadmap priorities.
  • Support customer workshops, executive briefings, RFP responses, technical proposals, commercial risk reviews and regional Corvil roadshows.
  • Work closely with Corvil Services and Support to ensure clean handover from pre-sales to delivery, customer success and long-term value realization.
  • Develop APAC regional capability by sharing best practices, mentoring sales and services colleagues, and helping build repeatable playbooks for Corvil demonstrations, proof-of-value engagements and customer enablement.

Technical Skills

  • Practical knowledge of network protocols, switching and packet aggregation, including TCP/IP, UDP multicast, VLANs, SPAN/TAP feeds, aggregation switches, packet brokers and traffic delivery to monitoring or analytics platforms.
  • Strong understanding of electronic trading architectures, including market data plants, feed handlers, order gateways, FIX engines, smart order routers, matching engines, exchange connectivity, colocation and WAN connectivity.
  • Hands-on familiarity with trading and market data protocols such as FIX, binary order entry, multicast market data, middleware and exchange-specific protocol variants.
  • Experience with observability platforms and data integrations, including APIs, streaming data, Kafka, Elastic, Splunk, KX, time-series databases or similar analytics platforms.
  • Understanding of AI-ready data pipelines, operational data access, analytics workflows and how high-fidelity Corvil data can support automation, investigation and decision support.
  • Working knowledge of public cloud, virtual appliances, traffic mirroring, containerized environments and hybrid trading infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of network security, enterprise hardening, encryption considerations, role-based access, operational controls and regulated financial-services environments.
  • Ability to create and present technical architectures, deployment options, sizing assumptions, proof-of-value plans and customer-facing solution documentation.
  • Corvil CCE certification, prior Corvil deployment experience, CCNP or equivalent networking certification is highly desirable.

Education, Skills and Background (including experience requirements)

  • Senior pre-sales, sales engineering, solutions architecture, trading technology, network engineering or professional services background, ideally with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proven credibility with capital markets customers, preferably including exchanges, global banks, brokers, market makers, hedge funds, service providers or market infrastructure firms.
  • Commercially aware, with the ability to connect technical capability to customer value, risk reduction, operational efficiency, regulatory confidence and revenue expansion.
  • Strong executive communication skills: able to simplify complex technology, lead whiteboard discussions, write concise customer-facing material and present confidently to senior stakeholders.
  • Hands-on technical depth combined with the judgement to know when to stay strategic, when to go deep and when to bring in product, services or engineering support.
  • Proactive ownership mindset: comfortable driving opportunities, managing technical actions, escalating blockers and maintaining momentum across complex sales cycles.
  • Strong collaboration skills across sales, product, services, support and engineering, with a practical understanding of how pre-sales commitments affect delivery and customer success.
  • Ability to travel across North America for customer meetings, proof-of-value engagements, workshops, industry events and internal enablement sessions.
