Pinterest is an American visual discovery platform founded in 2010 where people save and organise images, products and ideas into themed boards. Unlike feed-based social networks it is built around planning future intent, so users arrive researching a kitchen renovation, an outfit or a holiday rather than to follow friends, which makes the audience unusually valuable to advertisers. Headquartered in San Francisco and listed on the New York Stock Exchange since 2019, the company earns nearly all of its revenue from advertising and has invested heavily in shoppable pins, visual search and AI-driven recommendations.

About Pinterest:

Millions of people around the world come to our platform to find creative ideas, dream about new possibilities and plan for memories that will last a lifetime. At Pinterest, we’re on a mission to bring everyone the inspiration to create a life they love, and that starts with the people behind the product.

Discover a career where you ignite innovation for millions, transform passion into growth opportunities, celebrate each other’s unique experiences and embrace the flexibility to do your best work. Creating a career you love? It’s Possible.

At Pinterest, AI isn't just a feature, it's a powerful partner that augments our creativity and amplifies our impact, and we’re looking for candidates who are excited to be a part of that. To get a complete picture of your experience and abilities, we’ll explore your foundational skills and how you collaborate with AI.

Through our interview process, what matters most is that you can always explain your approach, showing us not just what you know, but how you think. You can read more about our AI interview philosophy and how we use AI in our recruiting process here.

Intro:

As a Client Partner for Pinterest’s Auto and QSR book of business, you will be a strategic growth partner to some of the most influential advertisers in these categories. You will build trusted relationships with senior client and agency stakeholders, develop a deep understanding of their business priorities, and translate those priorities into full-funnel media strategies that drive measurable results.

This is an opportunity to help build a high-growth business at Pinterest. You will own a portfolio of clients, identifying opportunities to expand Pinterest’s role in their media mix, increase investment, and create long-term, sustainable partnerships. Combining strong commercial acumen, digital advertising expertise, and a consultative approach, you will help Auto and QSR brands connect with people as they discover, plan, and take action on Pinterest.

Success in this role requires the ability to influence across complex organizations, bring clarity to client challenges, and turn insights into compelling strategic recommendations. You will work closely with internal cross-functional partners to deliver innovative solutions across measurement, creative, product, and campaign strategy, ultimately driving meaningful revenue growth for Pinterest and business impact for our partners.

What you’ll do:

  • Retain, grow, and diversify the value Pinterest delivers to Auto and QSR advertisers, driving sustainable revenue growth and expanding Pinterest’s strategic role within each partner’s broader media mix.
  • Own senior stakeholder and decision-maker relationships across clients and agencies. Lead regular business reviews, strategy sessions, and planning conversations to understand priorities, remove barriers, and identify new growth opportunities.
  • Serve as the strategic voice for Pinterest, clearly articulating the platform’s unique value and influencing how advertisers think about Pinterest across brand, consideration, and performance objectives.
  • Develop a deep understanding of each partner’s business goals, customer needs, category dynamics, media strategy, and KPIs, translating those insights into tailored full-funnel media recommendations.
  • Use data, market knowledge, and platform insights to tell compelling stories and create actionable recommendations that help partners achieve stronger business outcomes.
  • Leverage knowledge of the broader advertising ecosystem, competitive platforms, and Auto and QSR industry trends to identify opportunities for Pinterest to deliver incremental value.
  • Proactively grow revenue through joint business planning, strategic pitching, deal negotiation, upselling, and identifying new lines of investment across business units, marketing objectives, regions, and agency teams.
  • Influence and secure budget allocation across relevant client teams and channels, including Search, Social, Brand, Video, Performance, and agency planning teams.
  • Partner with internal cross-functional teams; including Measurement, Creative Strategy, Product Marketing, Sales Operations, and technical partners, to solve complex client needs and deliver against shared business objectives.
  • Provide expert guidance on Pinterest advertising products, campaign best practices, creative strategy, and measurement solutions. Maintain strong fluency in Pinterest’s evolving product roadmap and ensure partners understand how to apply our solutions effectively.

What we’re looking for:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in sales/digital/social
  • Strong Agency network
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently meet/surpass sales targets and generate revenue
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and good follow-through
  • Ability to influence business decision makers
  • Ad Tech and Digital Advertising Expertise: Deep understanding of full funnel advertising solutions that includes media and measurement solutions for brand, consideration and conversion. Performance media expertise and proven success.
  • Strong Consultative and Negotiation Skills: Proven track record of developing long-term partnerships and effectively negotiating annual partnership agreements, ensuring mutual satisfaction and driving high-value client engagements.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to think critically and analytically by leveraging insights, macro trends and micro performance trends to translate learnings into actionable insights to propel revenue growth.
  • Goal and Result-Oriented Approach: Demonstrated ability to consistently achieve revenue goals while balancing both short and long-term growth objectives to foster continued partnership development. This includes a strategic, results-oriented approach to client and media management, ensuring sustainable success and mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Excellent Communication and Collaboration Skills: Able to thrive in fast-paced environments, maintaining high standards of operational excellence, strategic thinking, and fostering a collaborative team atmosphere.
  • Retail Partnership Knowledge: Experience driving growth with omnichannel and e-commerce retail brands both domestically and internationally.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent relevant experience.
