Senior Subtitling Specialist (Japanese Speaker)

Our technical services master and prepare this content in all distribution products including digital cinema, digital media and physical media (Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray and DVD).

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Japanese Subtitling Specialist to coordinate Japanese subtitling projects, manage schedules, maintain quality standards, and provide feedback and guidance to team members. This role is critical in ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality subtitle assets for global entertainment clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule Japanese subtitling projects and resources.
• Monitor project progress and ensure on-time delivery.
• Perform QC/QA reviews and ensure compliance with client specifications.
• Track quality performance and address recurring issues.
• Provide feedback, coaching, and training to subtitling specialists
• Maintain guidelines, workflows, and quality documentation.
• Support process improvements and localization initiatives.
• Collaborate with other operational teams to ensure timely project execution, quality compliance, and successful delivery of subtitle assets.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, Japanese Studies, Media, or related field.
• Japanese language proficiency JLPT N2 or higher is required.
• Strong English language skills.
• 4+ years of subtitling or localization experience.
• Experience in quality management, reviewing, or team coordination.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of professional subtitling tools and OTT workflows is preferred.
• High attention to detail and strong sense of ownership.
