Summary
As Head of Education at Platzi, you own the content engine and the team behind it: the Course Directors, the Postproduction Manager (who leads the editors). You own the content strategy end-to-end and you keep the whole system running. You report to the CPO.
This is a hands-on builder's role. You're a head, but you live in the operation and the detail. You code and ship tools, and you've already learned what Platzi needs to teach now, that's what lets you judge whether content is good and see where it should go next. You don't just decide what we teach; you design the strategy, read market demand, and shape a catalog that makes sense for Platzi and gives Growth an engine that works. And you back it with data.
Requirements
Responsibilities
- Lead the Education team: Course Directors, the Postproduction Manager (who leads the editors), and the partnerships lead.
- Design the content strategy: read market demand and Platzi's fit to decide what we teach and why.
- Own the content roadmap: decide what we build, in what order, and why.
- Own content quality: set the standard for a great course and go to the root cause when it's not met.
- Keep the system running end-to-end: production, postproduction, and publishing, on time and at quality.
- Build, don't just manage: ship internal tools, including AI, that scale how we produce and improve courses.
- Own the numbers: retention, acquisition, and enrollments per course and plan launches with Growth Marketing so the catalog drives results.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience, including leading a team with direct reports.
- You can code, and you've already built at least one tool with AI.
- You understand how to create content: you've made courses or educational content yourself.
- You've used metrics to make decisions: retention, acquisition, enrollments, or a similar funnel.
- Experience in startups or fast-moving environments, close to new ways of learning.
- Fluent English and Spanish.
