Playtech is a gambling technology company founded in Estonia in 1999 that supplies the software behind online casino, live dealer, bingo and sports betting operations worldwide. Its business model is unusual in the sector: rather than only licensing software for a fee, it takes revenue share from many operators and holds direct stakes in some of them, which ties its earnings to how well its customers trade. Registered in the Isle of Man and listed in London, it runs large live dealer studios in Latvia and the Philippines and has been expanding into regulated American states.

About Playtech

Founded in 1999, the company has a premium listing on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange and is focused on regulated and regulating markets across its B2B business. By leveraging its proprietary technology, Playtech delivers innovative products and services to ensure a safe, engaging and entertaining gaming experience.

As the gaming industry's leading technology company, it combines business intelligence-driven software, services, content, and platform technology to drive excellence and innovation across the sector. Read more about who we are and what we do here: www.playtechpeople.com and www.playtech.com

Ready to level up your career?

We are looking for a Compliance Manager to join our Compliance team in Malta and take ownership of regulatory compliance activity across multiple jurisdictions, with a particular focus on Spain and Latin America. This is a hands-on role for someone who already understands the gambling industry, can operate confidently in a B2B environment and is ready to work independently while staying closely connected to a collaborative, international team.

Your Influential Mission: You Will…

  • Manage and support the development and implementation of compliance strategy and jurisdictional compliance activity.
  • Develop, monitor and maintain compliance control frameworks, policies and procedures, ensuring they are embedded into business processes and decision-making.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and translate changes into clear, timely actions for the business.
  • Oversee licensing activity and help ensure ongoing compliance with applicable licence conditions and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and coordinate internal and external compliance audits, following through on findings and remediation actions.
  • Prepare clear compliance reports for senior management or the Board when required.
  • Act as a key contact for regulatory bodies, ensuring filings, reports and communications are accurate and submitted on time.
  • Partner daily with cross-functional teams and other units across Playtech Group, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues where needed.
  • Represent the business in relevant industry forums and regulatory meetings, building strong relationships with regulators and external stakeholders.

Components for Success: You…

  • Bring at least three years of compliance experience within the gambling industry; candidates from outside the industry are not in scope at this stage.
  • Have strong B2B gambling compliance experience and can contribute with limited ramp-up; strong B2C experience may also be considered where the transition to B2B is clearly demonstrated.
  • Understand multi-jurisdictional gambling regulation, licensing and compliance frameworks, ideally with exposure to Spain and/or Latin American markets.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in law, business or another relevant field.
  • Communicate exceptionally well in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Can work with limited supervision, make sound decisions independently and take full ownership of deadlines and linked cross-team assignments.
  • Combine strong analytical judgement and attention to detail with the confidence to influence and engage stakeholders at different levels.
  • Work as a genuine team player, sharing information and supporting others even when managing your own portfolio independently.
  • Are based in Malta or able to work from Malta for this role.

You’ll Get Extra Points for…

  • Professional fluency in Spanish, which is a strong priority for engagement with Spain and Latin American markets.
  • Direct B2B gambling compliance experience covering Spain and/or Latin America.
  • A master’s degree or a relevant professional compliance qualification, such as ICA or Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional certification.
  • Experience representing a business in regulatory meetings, industry forums or complex licensing discussions.
  • Additional language capability relevant to Playtech’s international markets.

Thrive in a culture that values...

  • Ownership and trust, with space to work independently and make a visible contribution.
  • Collaboration across an international compliance team and wider Playtech business units.
  • Open knowledge-sharing, practical support and collective problem-solving.
  • Professional growth through exposure to multiple regulated markets, senior stakeholders and complex compliance matters.
  • Diverse perspectives, inclusive teamwork and the freedom to be yourself at work.

HOW TO APPLY?

In addition to your CV, please add a brief motivation letter/message covering your goals, your current experience in B2B gambling compliance or related fields and/or working in a corporate environment. You can write it in the comment section at the end of the application page (under “your message to the hiring manager”).

COMPLIANCE TEAM

You will join an international Compliance team working across jurisdictions and business areas. The team combines individual ownership with close collaboration, giving you the opportunity to lead your own portfolio while sharing expertise and supporting colleagues across locations. With a strong focus on regulated markets, the role offers broad exposure to licensing, policy, audits, regulatory engagement and cross-functional work across Playtech Group.

Playtech is an equal opportunities employer. Our mission is to welcome everyone and create inclusive teams. We celebrate differences and encourage everyone to join us and be themselves at work.
