Dispatcher

Position Summary

PNY Technologies is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Dispatcher / Transportation Coordinator to support daily transportation and logistics operations. This role serves as the central point of coordination between drivers, warehouse personnel, operations teams, customers, and external partners to ensure the secure, accurate, and timely movement of shipments.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment where shipment visibility, operational precision, customer service, and proactive problem-solving are critical. This position plays a key role in supporting the transportation of high-value, time-sensitive products while maintaining exceptional service levels and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Dispatch & Transportation Coordination

• Coordinate and dispatch company drivers for scheduled pickups, deliveries, transfers, and transportation activities.
• Develop, manage, and adjust daily delivery schedules based on operational priorities, customer requirements, traffic conditions, and resource availability.
• Monitor transportation activity throughout the day to ensure timely execution of deliveries and pickups.
• Maintain continuous communication with drivers to ensure route adherence and meet service expectations.

High-Value Shipment Coordination

• Oversee the movement of high-value and time-sensitive shipments, ensuring accuracy, visibility, and delivery performance throughout the transportation lifecycle.
• Monitor shipment status and proactively identify potential delays, service disruptions, or operational risks.
• Ensure appropriate shipment tracking, delivery confirmations, and chain-of-custody documentation are maintained.
• Coordinate urgent deliveries and special transportation requests while balancing competing operational priorities.

Shipment Tracking & Logistics Visibility

• Utilize GPS tracking systems, transportation management software, dispatch platforms, and shipment visibility tools to monitor fleet activity and delivery performance.
• Provide timely updates regarding shipment status, delivery schedules, and transportation issues to internal stakeholders and customers.
• Investigate route deviations, delays, missed deliveries, and other service exceptions to ensure rapid resolution.

Driver Support & Communication

• Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers during daily operations.
• Communicate routing changes, customer instructions, operational updates, and safety-related information.
• Help drivers resolve transportation, scheduling, and delivery challenges while maintaining a high level of customer service.

Warehouse & Operations Coordination

• Collaborate closely with warehouse, shipping, receiving, inventory control, and operations teams to support efficient product movement.
• Coordinate shipment readiness, loading schedules, and transportation planning to meet customer commitments.
• Verify the accuracy and completeness of transportation documentation prior to dispatch.

Customer & Vendor Relations

• Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, carriers, and internal stakeholders regarding shipment status, delivery schedules, and service updates.
• Address delivery concerns and transportation issues in a timely, solution-oriented manner.
• Build strong working relationships with cross-functional teams to support operational excellence.

Incident Response & Problem Resolution

• Respond to transportation disruptions, vehicle breakdowns, delays, damaged freight, and other operational challenges.
• Implement corrective actions and contingency plans to minimize service interruptions.
• Escalate critical issues appropriately and maintain detailed documentation of incidents and resolutions.

Compliance & Documentation

• Maintain accurate dispatch records, transportation logs, shipment documentation, incident reports, and driver communications.
• Ensure all transportation activities comply with company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Support reporting activities related to transportation performance, service levels, and operational metrics.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve routing efficiency, communication effectiveness, delivery performance, and transportation costs.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, customer satisfaction, and operational execution.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in transportation dispatch, logistics coordination, fleet operations, or a related role.
• Experience using dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, or shipment tracking/tracing tools.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Team-oriented with a professional and customer-focused approach.

Nice to Have

• Experience dispatching high-value, time-sensitive, or customer-critical shipments.
• Experience in technology, electronics, manufacturing, distribution, luxury goods, or supply chain environments.
• Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS), ELDs, or fleet management platforms.
• Knowledge of transportation compliance and logistics best practices.

COMPENSATION:

The base salary range for this position is $62,000 to $70,000; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget.
