#WePowerYourTalent
The energy transition happens through people who see their role beyond tasks and understand that what they do has a real impact.
At PPC, we contribute every day to a safer and cleaner energy system, from the networks that connect communities, to renewable energy that transforms the energy mix, or solutions that make electric mobility accessible.
Regardless of the role, our contribution is reflected every day in the communities we serve, in the customers who choose us, and in an energy system that is constantly evolving. We are present across the entire energy value chain and we are looking for motivated people to join us.
If you are curious to understand things in depth, responsible for seeing them through to completion, and open to working in a continuously changing environment, then your place is with us.
What you will do
In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a purpose greater than daily tasks: making energy safer, more sustainable, and closer to people.
The main goal: to design, develop and optimise the data pipelines and infrastructure that support PPC’s analytics and reporting processes, using advanced AWS / cloud-based solutions. As a senior member of the Data Hub team, you will take technical ownership of key data flows, shape the architecture of our data lake and data warehouse, ensure the performance, quality and security of the data our business teams rely on, and mentor fellow engineers - helping PPC make faster, data-driven decisions across the energy value chain.
We create the context for you to grow, being responsible for:
Design, build and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines and architectures supporting BI, analytics and machine learning, using orchestration and ETL frameworks such as Apache Airflow
Lead the design and development of cloud-based (AWS) data solutions and contribute to the overall data architecture, including security and governance
Integrate and synchronise data from diverse sources - databases, files, APIs, streaming and data replication tools - into the data lake and data warehouse
Build high-performance distributed data processing with Apache Spark and Apache Kafka, optimising for performance, scalability and cost
Design and optimise data models, complex SQL and storage / ETL processes to ensure data availability, quality and integrity
Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions, and explain complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
Drive CI/CD in GitLab, containerised deployments (Docker, Kubernetes) and automation of data pipeline processes
Own monitoring, performance tuning and incident resolution for the data platform and pipelines
Lead code reviews, set engineering best practices and mentor junior and mid-level data engineers
Contribute to the technical refinement of backlog items and to shaping the team’s technical direction
