AI Solutions Designer

Design and build AI agents that help people become better at their jobs. 

At PromethistAI, we build AI coaches, mentors and realistic role-play agents used by companies to develop their people — from bankers practicing client conversations to managers working on their leadership skills. 

We're looking for an AI Solutions Designer who will work directly with our customers, understand how their people and business actually work, and turn that knowledge into great AI experiences. 

This isn't a traditional consulting role. And it isn't a software engineering role. 

You'll be the person connecting customers, domain expertise and AI. 

What you'll do 

You'll work with customers from the first discovery session all the way to a working AI solution. 

That means you'll: 

• talk to customers, their experts and end users to understand what they actually need — including things they haven't articulated yet, 

• turn messy business requirements, methodologies and expert knowledge into clear designs for AI agents, 

• design how our agents behave: what they know, how they communicate, how they react to different situations and what a great interaction looks like, 

• build and iterate those agents directly using the Promethist platform and AI tools, 

• create realistic personas, simulations, coaching flows and evaluations, 

• test agents yourself, find where their behaviour breaks down and improve them, 

• work with customer feedback and real conversations to continuously make the experience better, 

• identify patterns that can become reusable solutions across customers. 

You'll have a lot of ownership. You might spend the morning interviewing banking experts about how a great client conversation works and the afternoon turning what you've learned into an AI simulation and testing it. 

We're looking for someone who 

Is genuinely AI-native. 

AI isn't something you occasionally use to write an email. It's already part of how you research, think, prototype and get work done. 

You don't need to be a software engineer, but you should be curious about how modern AI systems work and comfortable experimenting with them. 

Can make sense of ambiguity. 

Customers rarely arrive with a perfect specification. You'll need to ask great questions, understand what's really happening underneath the initial request and turn incomplete information into something concrete. 

Is great with customers. 

You'll regularly work directly with senior stakeholders and domain experts. You can run a workshop, challenge an assumption when necessary and earn trust through the quality of your thinking. 

Has strong product and design judgment. 

You notice when an AI conversation feels wrong. You want to understand why. And you're willing to iterate until it works. 

Likes building, not just advising. 

We don't want someone who produces a specification and hands it to another team. You'll use AI and our platform to turn your own ideas into working agents. 

Domain expertise is a big plus 

We're especially interested in people who already understand one of the worlds our customers operate in: 

Banking, financial services or insurance — for example retail banking, sales, customer experience, branch networks, advisory, training or methodology. 

Learning, coaching or people development — for example L&D, instructional design, coaching, leadership development or behavioural science. 

You don't need expertise in both. 

What matters is that you can combine deep curiosity about a customer's domain with the ability to turn what you learn into an AI system. 

You might come from... 

There isn't one perfect background for this role. 

You might currently be an AI product manager, conversational AI designer, service designer, AI consultant, learning experience designer, innovation consultant or product owner. 

Or you might come from banking, insurance or L&D and have become the person around you who is always experimenting with AI and finding completely new ways of working. 

We're much more interested in what you can do than what your current job title says. 

What you'll learn here 

You'll work hands-on with production generative AI rather than building demos or PowerPoint concepts. 

You'll learn how to design AI agents that need to work reliably with real users, how to evaluate probabilistic systems, how to translate human expertise into agent behaviour and how enterprise AI products actually get deployed. 

And because the field is changing incredibly quickly, we expect you to help us figure out parts of the job that don't have established best practices yet.
