Senior Applications Developer (ColdFusion/Oracle)

ProSync is hiring a Senior Applications Developer to support a U.S. federal agency. The work is building and maintaining enterprise applications that run on Adobe ColdFusion with an Oracle database behind them.

This is a hands-on development role. You will write and support code on systems agency staff use every day, and you will own the quality controls around that code: automated test coverage, static analysis, and peer review. We are looking for someone who treats testing and code quality as part of the job rather than the first thing cut when a schedule tightens.

The position is fully remote within the continental United States.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support enterprise applications using Adobe ColdFusion and CFML.
• Design applications for testability, maintainability, reliability, and performance.
• Implement automated testing, including unit, integration, functional, regression, system, and end-to-end testing.
• Develop and maintain automated test suites using Selenium or similar tools.
• Use SonarQube or comparable tools to identify defects, vulnerabilities, code smells, duplication, and maintainability issues.
• Establish and maintain automated testing and code quality controls throughout the development lifecycle.
• Perform source control, peer code review, configuration management, defect resolution, and root cause analysis.
• Troubleshoot and isolate defects across the database, application, integration, and user interface layers.
• Support release readiness, regression testing, deployment validation, and production stabilization.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for development, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and sustainment.

Requirements

• Five (5) or more years of professional software development experience.
• Advanced hands-on experience developing enterprise applications in Adobe ColdFusion and CFML.
• Advanced Oracle backend development, including SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, functions, packages, views, data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, maintain, and troubleshoot integrated ColdFusion and Oracle applications.
• Strong software testing background, including automated testing with Selenium or similar tools.
• Experience with source control, configuration management, and defect resolution.
• Ability to isolate a defect across multiple application layers and identify the underlying cause.
• Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust background investigation. No security clearance is required for this role.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience building or standing up test automation frameworks.
• Prior federal government or federal contractor experience.
• Working proficiency with SonarQube or a comparable code quality tool.
