Romania Purchasing Manager

Your Role

As Procurement Manager, you will play a key leadership role within the country organization, acting as a member of the local Management Team while driving procurement excellence and alignment with regional and global strategies.

You will:

• Serve as a member of the Country Management Team, reporting functionally to the Country CEO and directly to the Regional Procurement Director.
• Lead and develop the country’s Non-Related Materials (NRM) procurement team, fostering capability growth and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate and monitor procurement spend and performance across BM, RM, and NRM categories, ensuring visibility and alignment with local, regional, and global stakeholders.
• Drive sourcing activities including RFx processes, tenders, supplier negotiations, supplier evaluation, selection, and contract award management.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, sourcing frameworks, governance requirements, and approval thresholds.
• Translate regional and global category strategies into successful local sourcing projects and procurement initiatives.
• Support Regional Commodity Managers through local execution, stakeholder engagement, and project implementation.
• Lead Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) improvement initiatives in collaboration with regional Procurement and Sourcing Excellence teams.
• Own procurement reporting, audit preparedness, compliance performance, and governance processes within the country.
• Promote clear roles, responsibilities, and controls, ensuring proper segregation of duties.
• Act as the primary procurement contact for the local Management Team, providing insights on market developments, risks, opportunities, and sourcing priorities.
• Support the implementation of regional and global procurement initiatives, tools, and best practices.
• Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to secure plant requirements through effective management of specifications, forecasts, and supply needs.
• Drive value creation through improvements in cost, quality, sustainability, service, and total cost of ownership.

Your Experience

To succeed in this role, you will bring strong procurement expertise, leadership capabilities, and the ability to influence stakeholders in a complex international environment.

You have:

• Proven years of procurement experience, including people leadership responsibilities.
• Proven experience developing teams and strengthening procurement capabilities.
• Experience working within an international matrix organization.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes, strategic sourcing, category management, supplier performance, and supplier development.
• Experience leading sourcing projects, tenders, supplier negotiations, and contract management activities.
• Knowledge of Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) processes and a track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Hands-on experience with E-Source-to-Pay systems and procurement tools.
• A strong commercial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities that create business value.
• The ability to understand technical requirements and convert them into procurement solutions that deliver cost, quality, sustainability, and service improvements.
• Solid project management skills and experience working cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Logistics, Sales, and Production teams.
• Strong analytical capabilities, including data analysis, data management, reporting, and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills across all organizational levels.
• A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
