Planned Activities
- Introduction and training on the operational, organizational, and safety procedures of an R&D laboratory.
- Participation in teamwork activities and collaboration with multidisciplinary groups and other research laboratories.
- Forensic analysis of components and samples related to power cables and accessories.
- Tomographic investigations using X-ray computed tomography (CT) for the non-destructive evaluation of internal defects and anomalies.
- Elemental characterization of materials through X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF).
- Morphological analyses using optical microscopy.
- Chemical-physical and mechanical characterization of materials through Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA).
- Preparation of polymeric samples and components from cables and accessories using a high-torque microtome.
- Metallographic sample preparation, including:
- precision cutting with a precision cut-off machine;
- resin mounting/embedding;
- surface preparation using an automatic lapping and polishing system;
- chemical etching and electropolishing for microstructural characterization.
- Metallographic analysis using optical microscopy.
- Collection, processing, and interpretation of experimental results.
- Preparation of technical reports and presentation of the results obtained during the activities.
