Why This Role Matters
As a Lead Engineer specializing in Java Microservices, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable, high-performance microservices-based solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to architect and deliver cutting-edge Java-based solutions that drive digital transformation for our clients.
Where You’ll Make an Impact
- Lead the design and development of Java-based microservices architectures, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, designers and engineering teams to define technical roadmaps and deliver business-critical solutions.
- Implement best practices for microservices development, including API design, service discovery, and fault tolerance.
- Optimize Java applications for cloud-native environments, leveraging Kubernetes, Docker, and serverless technologies.
- Drive automation and CI/CD best practices to ensure rapid and reliable deployment of microservices.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring our solutions are cutting-edge and competitive.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
- Significant experience in Java development, with a strong focus on microservices architecture.
- Expertise in Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Quarkus and other Java-based frameworks for building cloud-native applications.
- Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar).
- Proficiency in containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their integration with Java-based microservices.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a passion for delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.
- Fluent in Italian and English.
Additional Experience We Value
- Certifications in Java, Spring, or cloud technologies (AWS Certified Developer, Azure Developer Associate, etc.).
- Working knowledge of React and Next.js frontend framework, with occasional hands-on experience.
- Knowledge of API gateways, service mesh, and distributed tracing tools.
- Background in performance tuning and optimization of Java applications.
- Prior hands-on experience with headless CMS platforms such as Contentstack.
