About the team

Join our Data Management team within Technology Consulting, where we help clients design, build, modernize, and migrate enterprise-scale data platforms. You’ll work on complex Data & AI engagements for a variety of clients, including large banks and insurance organizations abroad as well as companies based in the Czech Republic. Our work combines strategic architecture with hands-on engineering to turn modern cloud and data technologies into tangible business value.

About your managers

Tomáš Karas is a Director who leads the whole Data Management team in Technology Consulting. Combining the roles of Data Architect and Delivery data lead, he helps clients build large-scale data platforms and transform data using modern data & AI technologies into business value. His teams deliver solutions that automate complex processes and save clients thousands of hours of operational effort using a combination of data & AI platforms. Outside of work, you'll likely meet him with a team at some place that involves music either on dance floor or behind the mic on karaoke. At home he spends time with family of 4 kids and their famous guinea pig farm.

David Tomandl is a Senior Manager who leads the Data Engineering team within Data Management in Technology Consulting. Combining the roles of Cloud Data Platform Architect and Delivery Manager, he helps clients build, modernize, and migrate modern data platforms, deliver data migrations in core system replacements, and transform data into tangible business value. David has delivered complex Data & AI projects across Europe and Canada. Outside of work, he is passionate about fishing for zander and staying active through sports.

Job description & summary

Are you a seasoned data architecture professional passionate about designing enterprise-scale cloud data platforms and shaping technology strategy? Join our team as a Cloud Data Platform Architect and take ownership of end-to-end data architecture.

You will define the architectural vision and technology strategy for complex data platforms, ensuring scalability, security, and long-term maintainability. You’ll work closely with Lead Data Engineers, engineering teams, and senior client stakeholders to translate business needs into robust, future-proof architectures. You’ll also play a key role in technology selection, governance, and setting engineering standards across projects, while staying hands-on when complex technical challenges call for it.

You will:

• Design end-to-end architecture for cloud-native data platforms, including data lakes, Lakehouse, data warehousing, and integration layers.
• Define technology strategy and standards, evaluating and selecting tools and platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, MS Fabric, Azure, AWS, and GCP based on client and business needs.
• Own architectural decisions across multiple projects, ensuring consistency, scalability, security, and cost-efficiency.
• Provide architectural governance, including reviewing designs from Lead Data Engineers and engineering teams.
• Get hands-on when needed, actively contributing to engineering, troubleshooting, and implementation on critical or complex tasks.
• Act as a senior technical advisor to clients, leading architecture workshops and presenting strategic recommendations to executive stakeholders.
• Guide the adoption of best practices in data governance, security, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.

What matters to us

• Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale cloud data platform architectures.
• Deep expertise across cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, with a strong understanding of trade-offs between platforms and services.
• A strong track record architecting and hands-on building enterprise-scale solutions using Databricks, Snowflake, or MS Fabric.
• Multiple relevant cloud or architecture certifications, such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect Professional, or GCP Professional Cloud Architect.
• Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance requirements, particularly in regulated industries such as banking or insurance.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with proven ability to influence technology decisions at executive level.

• Experience defining enterprise-wide data strategy or reference architectures across multiple business units or clients.
• A track record of leading large-scale cloud or data platform migrations.
• Deep expertise in data mesh, data fabric, or modern data architecture paradigms.
• Experience with FinOps and cost optimization strategies for large-scale cloud data platforms.
• Experience integrating AI/LLM capabilities into enterprise data platform architecture, such as RAG, vector databases, and AI governance.
