Qantas (ASX: QAN) is the flag carrier airline of Australia and one of the world's oldest continually operating aviation groups, headquartered in Mascot, Sydney. Founded in 1920 as Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services Limited (QANTAS), the enterprise has grown into Australia's largest domestic and international airline group. The company operates a dual-brand strategy serving two primary customer segments: full-service domestic, international, and regional operations under the core Qantas brand (including QantasLink), and low-cost carrier operations under Jetstar.
  • Lead the end-to-end delivery program of a major commercial transformation shaping the future of Qantas’ fare offering
  • Act as the program's driving force, bringing together cross-functional design, build, and business teams to deliver a complex, enterprise-wide rollout.
  • Drive a multi-year program of work, managing continuous iterative releases as we evolve toward Modern Airline Retailing.
  • Full-time permanent position located at our Mascot head office

The aviation sector doesn’t stand still. Challenged to adapt and change, we’ve responded by reinventing our customer experience, broadening our business and achieving what was thought impossible. This allows us to stand strong as the Qantas Group.

As the Senior Program Manager, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of Qantas’ Fares transformation program, ensuring each phase is implemented on time, within scope and budget, and aligned with the approved business case. You will ensure the end-to-end solution is robustly designed to meet commercial requirements, before translating those requirements into an integrated delivery plan that coordinates the build, testing, release readiness, launch and transition to business-as-usual operations across all customer, distribution, operational and technology touchpoints.

Working across Commercial, Technology, Digital, Loyalty, Distribution, Airports, Contact Centres and Operations, you will bring a broad group of stakeholders and delivery teams together behind a single, sequenced plan. You will lead program governance, critical-path planning, risk and change control, vendor performance and operational readiness, while guiding a matrixed team of workstream leads and business analysts to deliver sustainable outcomes and support Qantas’ progression towards Modern Airline Retailing.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • 10+ years’ experience in program or delivery management, with a proven track record delivering large-scale, cross-functional transformation programs.
  • Demonstrated experience leading major technology implementations or complex product launch programs, ideally within aviation, complex retail, or enterprise e-commerce environments.
  • Strong capability across integrated delivery planning, critical-path management, dependencies, risk, scope and change control.
  • Experience driving operational readiness and business change management across frontline environments (e.g., Contact Centres, Airports) to ensure successful adoption and minimal disruption at launch.
  • Experience managing program budgets, business cases, third-party vendors and delivery partners.
  • Strong technical fluency and the ability to coordinate design, build, testing and integration across multiple systems and platforms.
  • Experience applying agile and waterfall delivery methodologies within complex, multi-component programs.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to align broad stakeholder groups and navigate competing priorities.
  • Experience leading matrixed teams, including workstream leads, business analysts and cross-functional resources.
  • A degree-level qualification, with program or project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2 or agile considered desirable.
