As a Technical Product Owner, Airline Operations you’ll drive technology transformation at the heart of our airline operations! The role is required to lead transformation of Crew planning, rostering and tracking capabilities and data enablement for workforce planning.
The portfolio includes legacy platforms that are decades old and due for modernisation, alongside emerging AI and automation opportunities that will reshape how these business areas operate. The Technical Product Owner (TPO) role works closely with various senior business stakeholders to provide a single point of accountability across the technology lifecycle of Plan, Build and Run for an assigned set of business capabilities and products, as well as their underlying technology components. Relationships with business and external key stakeholders are fundamental to coordinating activity across multiple requirements, critical dependencies, technology imperatives, and functional outcomes.
With Technology undertaking an ambitious 5 year strategic plan, the TPO will play an essential role in developing and driving the roadmaps that will underpin the business strategy. The TPO will provide counsel to senior stakeholders, ensuring that - with technology so readily available - focus is retained on the alignment between technology and business strategies. In line with this the TPO will be pivotal in the customer product led operating model accountable for the technology products which comprises of numerous technology applications and management of suppliers.
You’ll Have
- 7-10 years' experience as a senior IT business partner and/or IT manager, accountable for a portfolio of business-facing, operational applications, with end-to-end accountability across application delivery, implementation, and run.
- Experience within Airline Operations preferred
- Experience within complex legacy modernisation in critical sectors (e.g., airlines, defence, healthcare) preferred
- Expert stakeholder management across both business and technical functions, building and maintaining trusted relationships.
- Strong Commercial acumen, supplier management skills
- Effective stakeholder management both across Qantas business units, and external vendors.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver excellent product outcomes, aligned with the technology strategy
