The role is responsible for post-fixture vessel operations and commercial coordination for tanker vessels, ensuring smooth execution of charter-party requirements from pre-fixture through voyage completion. Key duties include coordinating with charterers, Masters, agents, and P&I clubs; arranging bunkers, port funds, surveys, and vessel clearances; monitoring cargo operations, vessel performance, laytime and hire; preparing invoices and voyage documentation; and supporting commercial contracts, tenders, claims, and disputes.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Support on Pre Fixture activities, Timely completion of required questionnaires and other vessel clearance related matters
- Liaise with Charterers on Cargo and Vessel preparation requirements
- Highlighting main Charter Party terms and communicating it with the Master
- Monitoring, discussing and reviewing Charterer's instructions to Master
- Appointing Agents, liaising with the Charterers, Ship's Agents and all concerned parties
- Arranging bunkers, port funds and all necessities as required under the Charter Party
- Preparing laytime calculations and hire statements
- Monitoring vessel's cargo operations and speed and consumption performance
- Arranging and coordinating pre-loading surveys with respective PNI clubs
- Assist in handling FD&D claims, speed claims and/or any other disputes with the Charterers
- Maintaining proper filing for the Chartering & Operations Department
- Assist in Commercial contract and tendering
- Raise Freight invoice/ Hire invoice
- Maintain records of all correspondence of commercial matters such as voyage instruction and payment
- Maintain Vessel Position list
- Record keeping of all voyages and documents
- Follow specified systems, processes and procedures, implemented in the workplace, to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and other requirements/standards
- Work safely at all times, protecting the health and safety of everyone in the workplace
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Education & Professional Qualification:
- Bachelor's Degree; preferably in Shipping, logistics, Maritime etc.
Professional Experience:
- 3 - 5 Years of experience as a Post Fixture Operative voyage planning on tankers
Or
- 5 years Sailing Experience on Tankers with good commercial skills
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to file correspondence.
Geographic Experience:
- Middle East experience is preferred
Computer Skills:
- Microsoft office; applications associated with the shipping industry will be an added advantage.
Language Skills:
- Must have excellent English Skills
Market/Industry/Functional Knowledge:
- Shipping industry experience
