Network Operations Manager

My client based in Bryanston is currently looking for a Network Operations Shift Manager to join their team on a contract basis.

IT / FINANCE

Responsibilities

• Oversee 24/7/365 monitoring of tower power systems, passive infrastructure and environmental alarms.
• Monitor, identify, investigate and escalate outages, theft incidents, generator faults and power failures.
• Lead P1/P2 incident responses and act as Incident Commander during major service-impacting incidents.
• Ensure accurate incident logging, ticket creation, prioritisation and escalation in line with SLA requirements.
• Provide Tier 2 technical support and diagnose escalated power and infrastructure-related issues.
• Coordinate shift teams, including shift planning, rosters, leave schedules and resource allocation.
• Ensure effective shift handovers and clear communication of outstanding incidents and operational issues.
• Work closely with field teams, energy service partners, TowerCo's and vendors to ensure timely incident resolution.
• Manage stakeholder communication during incidents, including MNO customers and internal teams.
• Ensure compliance with NOC standard operating procedures (SOPs), change controls, maintenance windows and site access protocols.
• Prepare shift performance reports covering outages, MTTR trends, SLA risks and operational performance.
• Maintain accurate, complete and audit-ready incident records and documentation.
• Identify recurring incidents and recommend improvements to reduce downtime and improve service availability.

Qualifications & Experience

• 3-5 years' experience in NOC operations, preferably within a TowerCo or telecommunications environment.
• Experience coordinating shifts and operational teams in a 24/7/365 operational environment.
• Relevant qualification in Engineering, IT, Telecommunications or Operations.
• Strong technical background in network operations, power systems and infrastructure monitoring.
• Experience with hybrid power systems, including solar PV, BESS, diesel generators (DG), grid power, ATS/AMF, rectifiers and -48V systems.
• Good understanding of tower passive infrastructure, including towers, shelters, cooling and security systems.
• Experience using monitoring systems, OSS, telemetry dashboards and SNMP tools.
• Experience managing incidents, escalations and service restoration within SLA requirements.
• Experience working with TowerCo's, energy service companies (ESCo's), vendors and field operations teams.
• ITIL certification or training will be advantageous.
