This position is based in Vadodara, India as a permanent work-from-office role. The standard shift is 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM IST.
Staff Quality Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Staff Manual Quality Engineer to lead and execute high-quality testing processes for complex applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership over QA efforts for projects, including planning, execution, and reporting.
- Analyze business requirements and create test strategies, plans, and cases.
- Perform functional, regression, system, and user acceptance testing.
- Identify, document, and track defects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Conduct risk analysis and recommend quality improvements.
- Drive QA process improvements and best practices.
- Participate in release planning and provide quality sign-off.
Leadership Responsibilities
- Act as a point of escalation for complex testing issues.
- Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions and team skill development.
- Collaborate with management to define QA strategies and roadmap.
- Ensure adherence to QA processes and standards.
- Represent QA in stakeholder meetings and communicate quality metrics.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the QA team.
Technical Skills
- Solid experience with QA lifecycle processes.
- Strong expertise in API testing (Postman, REST Assured)
- Knowledge of SQL for database testing.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
- Familiarity with Playwright, and/or experience with test automation frameworks and tools.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5-10 years of experience in manual testing of complex applications.
- Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, defect life cycle, QA methodologies.
- Expertise in writing test cases, scenarios, and reports.
- Hands-on experience with bug tracking tools (JIRA, Bugzilla).
- Proficiency in SQL for database validation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Exposure to API testing and basic automation frameworks.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience in performance and security testing concepts.
